IB (DP), Bespoke Curriculum
Located in Uppsala, Katedralskolan is a municipal upper secondary school with a history dating to 1246. The building, inaugurated in 1869 and renovated in 2019, hosts modern laboratories and equipped classrooms. The school offers the Swedish national upper-secondary programmes, including Barn- och fritidsprogrammet, Naturvetenskapsprogrammet, Humanistiska programmet, Samhällsvetenskapsprogrammet, Language Introduction (IMS), and Several Electives. It also runs the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, with a Pre-Diploma year in Year 10 and DP1/DP2 in Years 11–12. DP entry requires six subjects from six groups and passing grades in English, Mathematics, and Social Studies. Group 1–6 options include Swedish, English, and a Self-taught Language A; Group 2 languages include English, Swedish, French, German, Spanish; Group 4 sciences; Group 5 Mathematics; Group 6 the Arts or alternatives. The school is an IB World School with facilities, on-site library, and diverse clubs spanning mathematics, science, music, and languages. The school welcomes students from Sweden and abroad.
