Located in central Gothenburg, Hvitfeldtska Gymnasiet is a public high school with heritage dating back to 1647. The school offers the IB Diploma Programme (DP) alongside the national Swedish system, with the DP beginning in 1988, making it one of Sweden's oldest IB DP programs. The program is run in three stages: Pre-DP/Grade 10 (50–60 students) taught in English, Grade 11/DP Year 1 (about 80–90 students), and Grade 12/DP Year 2 for students who complete Year 1, with transfers determined individually. The IB curriculum provides breadth and depth across subjects aligned to the Swedish framework, and some courses are adapted to prepare students for Diploma study. Approximately 2,000 students attend the school, with around 240 in the IB; collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology offers physics labs and expert support. Open House events are scheduled for November 21, 2026, and January 16, 2027, and IB Ambassadors assist prospective students.
