- Reduced monthly rates apply automatically from August in the year the child turns 3 (children aged 3–6 with full‑time preschool receive the lower fritids rate August–May).

Billing schedule and payment terms
- Preschool and fritids fees are billed monthly. Invoices are normally sent to the household where the child is registered; only one invoice recipient can be chosen per household. You pay the billed fee from the child's first day of enrolment. You remain liable for fees during periods the child is absent (for example summer break) and during any notice period when a place is cancelled.
- If you do not submit household income information, the municipal maxtaxa will be charged automatically. Syskonrabatt (sibling discount) applies and fees are charged for up to three children per household.

Boarding fees
- Boarding is not applicable. Malmö International School is a municipal day school and does not operate boarding facilities. No boarding fees apply.

Other costs and optional charges
- School tuition for compulsory years is free and no mandatory school uniform is required. Admissions
1. Eligible applicants include parents studying or working within Higher Education in the region. Families moving to Malmö or the region due to employment or studies for a limited period may also apply. Families relocating who have attended an international school abroad for a major part of their child s education may apply. Knowledge of English is required for the age level of the curriculum.

2. Students are placed by age. EY covers ages 3-5. PYP covers ages 6-11, across several year levels. MYP covers ages 12-16. After MYP4, students apply to upper secondary school, with fluency in Swedish required for Swedish upper secondary institutions.

3. The school is funded by the City of Malmö. Education for compulsory levels PYP1 - MYP4 is provided free of charge. Preschool education (EY) has a maximum fee related to the household's total income. Living within Malmö municipality is recommended; if living outside, the other municipality must agree to pay charges to Malmö before admission is secured.
