Australian Curriculum, IB (PYP)
Belair Primary School is an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) alongside the Australian Curriculum. English is the language of instruction, with a second language taught from Reception to Year 6; Japanese is offered, and French runs after hours. The Languages policy emphasises Indigenous Kaurna language awareness and home language maintenance where possible. Located at 45–83 Main Road, Belair, SA, the school joined with Belair Junior Primary in 2013 to form Belair Primary. The campus features 14 new classrooms (2023), air-conditioned buildings, a refurbished library, and dedicated spaces for art, technology, cooking, and sport. Facilities include a gym, cricket nets, oval, basketball and netball courts, and a suite of devices (laptops and iPads) with Apple TV in learning areas. Extracurriculars are strong: ICAS and Australian Mathematics Competition, Debating SA, TOM, and the Momoyama Exchange. A sustainability focus is evident through ECO School projects and community mentoring.
