Bus service

Navette (bus shuttle) service provided by BLAGUSS. In the morning, two shuttles run: Liechtensteinstrasse 37A to Grinzinger Schule at 8:15 and 8:30 (students welcomed at the Lycée from 8:00). In the afternoon, two shuttles return to the Lycée at 15:30 and 15:45, with one continuing to the UN (ONU). Registrations are via Eduka; sign-up form is on the BLAGUSS link. Application (first‑time) fee

- A one‑time registration (first‑time enrolment) fee is required at the moment of first registration. EUR 8,000 is charged as the one‑time registration fee. This registration fee is not refundable in case of withdrawal.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Tuition, half‑board and internat charges are accounted over 10 months (September–June) and are invoiced in three terms with the following distribution: 40% for September–December, 30% for January–March, and 30% for April–June. All started terms are due in full; in case of entry or justified force majeure departure mid‑year, billing is calculated by month rather than by the started term. Invoices are payable within 15 days of issue.

- Tuition invoices may be issued as either three invoices (standard term schedule) or split into eight instalments; payment deadlines remain as stated on each invoice. The school offers automatic bank direct debit on request via the EDUKA platform.

Boarding (internat)

- Boarding is available through a partner boarding house (Theresianische Akademie) for pupils from the Seconde (upper secondary) onward by convention. Internat registration is for the full school year; early departure from the internat does not stop the obligation to pay the internat fees due for the rest of the school year. Internat charges are invoiced according to the billing rules above.

Other costs and fees

- Half‑board (school meals): Half‑board is charged separately and is compulsory up to and including 3ème and for boarders unless a special exemption is granted. Refunds or account adjustments for half‑board are possible for illness absences exceeding 15 consecutive days on presentation of a medical certificate; shorter absences do not give an entitlement to pro rata refunds.

- Book rental and course materials: An annual flat fee for provision (rental) of textbooks is collected once with the first‑term invoice; that fee is not refundable. Families are responsible for replacement costs for lost or damaged books.

- Examination and administrative fees: Examination registration fees (for national examinations and official tests), specific exam or registration charges, and fees for certain administrative services are charged in addition to tuition where applicable.

- School trips, extracurricular activities, specific supplies and optional services: Costs for outings, residential school trips, optional extracurricular activities, specific subject materials, and other optional paid services are invoiced separately when applicable.

- Uniforms: The school requires a suitable dress code but does not list a compulsory school uniform or a uniform purchase charge in the rules; any specific clothing or sports kit requirements are managed through school communications and activities.

Refunds and cancellations

- The first‑time registration fee is non‑refundable. The flat annual book rental fee is not refundable. All started billing terms are due; if a pupil leaves mid‑year for a reason other than justified force majeure, the usual billing rules apply and the family remains liable for fees due according to the invoicing policy. For half‑board, refunds or deductions are possible for absences of more than 15 consecutive days with medical justification; no refund is granted for the last 15 days of the school year. For the internat, the year‑long registration means early departure does not stop the invoicing of the internat fees for the year.

Fee payment options

- Payment by bank transfer / SEPA and automatic bank direct debit is supported (direct debit must be requested via the EDUKA parent platform). The school uses the EDUKA billing/finance system which supports multiple electronic payment options (including online card payment gateways and SEPA transfers) as configured by the school. Payment by the methods offered on EDUKA and the bank transfer/direct debit options are accepted; families should follow the payment instructions shown on each invoice.

Practical notes for parents

- The one‑time registration charge is due to secure admission and is payable at first enrolment; it is not refundable. Tuition invoices are due within 15 days of issue; non‑payment after reminders may lead to exclusion from classes. Changes between half‑board and external status must be requested in writing at least 15 days before the end of the preceding term. Book rental, half‑board and internat rules and refund conditions follow the school's standard billing rules described above.

Curriculum

Educational structure: Four schools in one: Maternelle (Kindergarten; ages 3-6), École élémentaire (Primary; ages 6-10), Collège (Middle School; ages 10-15), and Lycée (High School; ages 15-18). The educational structure mirrors the French National Education System. Educational consistency allows students to begin, continue, and complete their education at LFV, or at any corresponding level in France or AEFE schools worldwide. Early multilingualism: all pupils learn French and German from nursery onwards, with English added from Year 5. French and German are the primary languages, with English, Arabic and Spanish also taught. The LFV follows the French Ministry of Education curriculum for French lessons and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research curriculum for Austrian lessons in native German.

1. First admission: Register your child for the first time at Lycée Français de Vienne on Eduka. If none of your children have previously enrolled, create an account on Eduka. Scholarships

AEFE scholarship: This tuition assistance is available to French families who apply to the French Consulate in Austria and are registered in the Register of French Nationals Living Abroad; qualification is means-tested. The scholarship application for one school year is processed from February of the prior school year. The 2026–2027 campaign runs with a deadline of February 20, 2026 for receipt by the Consular Section. Families may submit either an initial application for enrollment for the 2026 school year or a renewal application if their child already receives grants for 2025–2026. General eligibility includes French nationality, registration in the Register of French Nationals Living Abroad, residence with family in Austria, being at least 3 years old on December 31, 2025 (for Kindergarten), and enrollment at Lycée de Vienne, with award contingent on household resources. Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Learning Support offers tailored support for students who need personalized guidance – ensuring success for all learners. Our Learning Support team works closely with teachers, students, and families to ensure that individual learning needs are met through a personalised, inclusive approach. We focus on helping students develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning – whether they need short-term guidance, targeted skill development, or ongoing academic support. Through collaboration, assessment, and evidence-based strategies, we create an environment where all learners can access the curriculum, participate fully in school life, and reach their full potential. Learning Support is a paid programme, and places are limited; some specialised assessments or extended one-to-one sessions may incur an additional cost.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

English is the language of instruction at DISV. The English Language Development (ELD) programme in Grades 6–10 provides targeted support to help students access the IB curriculum and develop advanced communication and academic English skills. Our ELD specialists and learning support teachers work closely with subject teachers and families to set individual goals, monitor progress, and celebrate each student's growth. ELD lessons take place during the French/Spanish block on the timetable, allowing students to receive focused English language instruction while remaining fully integrated in the school community. The programme is a paid service with places limited, and families are invoiced separately.

Mental Wellbeing

A Vice Principal (Pastoral) is responsible for student wellbeing and behaviour, assisted by Heads of Grade and a homeroom teachers. Each student is a member of a homeroom group; homeroom periods focus on personal and social education and regular assemblies to celebrate student achievement and build school community. If ongoing psychological support is required, external counseling can be recommended. The school provides university counseling to assist with applications and hosts university fairs, with a dedicated university counselor. A secondary student council represents student interests and promotes activities for the student body.

Safeguarding

DISV creates an inclusive learning environment where all community members feel safe and belong. The Secondary Handbook describes safeguarding and wellbeing structures, including a Vice Principal (Pastoral) responsible for student wellbeing and behaviour, supported by Head of Grade and a homeroom teacher. If concerns arise, the school can involve external agencies and may advise counseling as appropriate. The school also maintains a Student Council to represent student interests and promote community initiatives.

Admissions

The school is an IB World School offering the PYP, MYP, and DP from Kindergarten (EYU) through Grade 12. Admissions are personal, transparent, and supportive, with the Admissions Team guiding families moving to Vienna or transitioning from other schools. The school welcomes applications from all nationalities and backgrounds and takes time to understand each family's journey to ensure the right fit for the child's academic, social, and emotional growth. Scholarships

DISV offers IB Diploma scholarships for high-achieving students entering Grades 11–12 who cannot afford the school fees. The deadline for scholarship applications is March 1. Scholarship students do not pay regular school fees but are responsible for IB examination fees (approximately €850–€900), field trips, and other incidental expenses. Applicants should demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and English proficiency, commitment to the IB philosophy and international-mindedness, leadership and community involvement, and curiosity about global issues. Scholarships are available only to students who could not otherwise afford tuition.

Waitlist

If a grade is oversubscribed, admission may be postponed and the applicant placed on a waiting list. Final admission decisions follow the stated admission priorities (siblings in the school, a parent or sibling who attended DISV, international students, etc.).
