Introduction

Lycée Français de Vienne (LFV) is a French international school in Vienna and a member of the AEFE network. It serves students aged 3 to 18 and operates four schools in one: Maternelle, École élémentaire, Collège and Lycée, mirroring the French National Education System. Application (first‑time) fee

- A one‑time registration (first‑time enrolment) fee is required at the moment of first registration. EUR 8,000 is charged as the one‑time registration fee. This registration fee is not refundable in case of withdrawal.

Annual tuition by year group (annual total and three‑term breakdown)

- Kindergarten (K1–K3): Annual tuition EUR 7,220. Per‑term breakdown (billed in three terms at 40% / 30% / 30%): Term 1 EUR 2,888; Term 2 EUR 2,166; Term 3 EUR 2,166.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Tuition, half‑board and internat charges are accounted over 10 months (September–June) and are invoiced in three terms with the following distribution: 40% for September–December, 30% for January–March, and 30% for April–June. All started terms are due in full; in case of entry or justified force majeure departure mid‑year, billing is calculated by month rather than by the started term. Invoices are payable within 15 days of issue.

- Tuition invoices may be issued as either three invoices (standard term schedule) or split into eight instalments; payment deadlines remain as stated on each invoice. The school offers automatic bank direct debit on request via the EDUKA platform.

Boarding (internat)

- Boarding is available through a partner boarding house (Theresianische Akademie) for pupils from the Seconde (upper secondary) onward by convention. Internat registration is for the full school year; early departure from the internat does not stop the obligation to pay the internat fees due for the rest of the school year. Internat charges are invoiced according to the billing rules above.

Other costs and fees

- Half‑board (school meals): Half‑board is charged separately and is compulsory up to and including 3ème and for boarders unless a special exemption is granted. Refunds or account adjustments for half‑board are possible for illness absences exceeding 15 consecutive days on presentation of a medical certificate; shorter absences do not give an entitlement to pro rata refunds.

- Book rental and course materials: An annual flat fee for provision (rental) of textbooks is collected once with the first‑term invoice; that fee is not refundable. Families are responsible for replacement costs for lost or damaged books.

- Examination and administrative fees: Examination registration fees (for national examinations and official tests), specific exam or registration charges, and fees for certain administrative services are charged in addition to tuition where applicable.

Educational structure: Four schools in one: Maternelle (Kindergarten; ages 3-6), École élémentaire (Primary; ages 6-10), Collège (Middle School; ages 10-15), and Lycée (High School; ages 15-18). The educational structure mirrors the French National Education System. Educational consistency allows students to begin, continue, and complete their education at LFV, or at any corresponding level in France or AEFE schools worldwide. Early multilingualism: all pupils learn French and German from nursery onwards, with English added from Year 5. Admissions
1. First admission: Register your child for the first time at Lycée Français de Vienne on Eduka. If none of your children have previously enrolled, create an account on Eduka. If one or more children have previously enrolled, activate your password using the email address used during registration to access information about their schooling. Registration is confirmed upon payment of the non-refundable initial registration fee. 2. Renewal: Every year pupils must be re-registered for the following year. Re-enrolment can be completed online via the parents' EDUKA profile and includes updating contact details if applicable. The renewal process can be downloaded. With the EDUKA mobile app, you will have access to your file at any time and will receive personalised news and notifications. Scholarships
AEFE scholarship: This tuition assistance is available to French families who apply to the French Consulate in Austria and are registered in the Register of French Nationals Living Abroad; qualification is means-tested. The scholarship application for one school year is processed from February of the prior school year. The 2026–2027 campaign runs with a deadline of February 20, 2026 for receipt by the Consular Section. Families may submit either an initial application for enrollment for the 2026 school year or a renewal application if their child already receives grants for 2025–2026. General eligibility includes French nationality, registration in the Register of French Nationals Living Abroad, residence with family in Austria, being at least 3 years old on December 31, 2025 (for Kindergarten), and enrollment at Lycée de Vienne, with award contingent on household resources.
