Introduction

St. Timothy's School is an all-girls Episcopal boarding and day high school in Stevenson, Maryland, serving students aged 14 to 18. The curriculum combines the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme for grades 9–10 and the Diploma Programme for grades 11–12, with the Center for Learning and Teaching providing one-on-one IB advising and resources. The 145-acre campus includes an arboretum and Redlands Farm, on-site dining, and an Innovation Lab featuring a virtual reality center, 3-D printers, and coding and robotics software. The school supports equestrian activities through an Interscholastic Equestrian Association program and USEF shows. More than 30 student organizations enrich academics, arts, and service. The arts thrive in the Five Arts and Student Center, hosting roughly 15 campus performances annually. A graduation requirement of 120 service hours underpins the Frick-Bruce Program for Social Justice and Change. Chapel services and a focus on global citizenship complement the IB experience. Annual tuition at St. Timothy’s School ranges from USD 39,900 to USD 73,900 for 2026/27.

Application fees

- Character Skills Snapshot (optional): $50 when submitted independently. If purchased as an add-on with the SSAT, the add-on cost is $25.

Tuition — Upper School (grades 9–12)

- Day student tuition (annual): USD 39,900. Daily meals are included in this amount.
- Boarding student tuition (annual, includes room and board): USD 69,900. Daily meals are included in this amount.
- ESL tuition (annual, boarding ESL program): USD 73,900 (daily meals included).

Tuition detail by term / billing unit

- Annual tuition is stated as a yearly amount by student type (day, boarding, ESL). The school offers multiple payment schedules (including monthly and semi-annual options) rather than publishing separate per-term tuition figures; families use the available payment plans through the school's tuition portals and payment processors.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Multiple payment options are available, including monthly and semi-annual schedules. Families receive billing and may enroll in payment plans through the school's tuition/payment portals. Specific installment dates and surcharges (if any) are handled through those payment plans.
- FACTS Tuition Payment Plan is available for tuition management; families may enroll in FACTS for scheduled payments. Credit-card payments and international payment methods are supported via the school's payment portals.

Boarding fees and what they cover

- Boarding is charged as a single boarding-student tuition figure (USD 69,900 per year) that includes room and daily meals. There is not a separate line-item published publicly for a ‘‘room fee'' distinct from tuition; boarding costs are incorporated in the boarding tuition figure. Evening and weekend residential programming and house facilities are part of the boarding experience.

Other mandatory or routine fees

- Meals: Daily meals are included for both day and boarding students in the published tuition amounts.
- Uniforms: Uniforms are required and are available through the school's designated vendor (Dennis Uniform). Specific uniform pricing is not published as a flat school fee.
- Standard admissions/testing incidental fees: the Character Skills Snapshot fees noted above; fees associated with SSAT/ISEE/TOEFL/Duolingo are external testing fees charged by those testing organizations when those tests are used.
- Additional activity-specific or optional program fees (e.g., equestrian program, athletics trip fees, special course fees) may apply; those program-level fees are not listed as blanket mandatory schoolwide fees in the published tuition summary.

Refund information

- No publicly posted, detailed refund or withdrawal-forfeiture schedule for tuition and fees (enrollment deposits, cancelation penalties, or pro‑rata refunds) is available in the school's public tuition and admissions materials. Enrollment contract deadlines and acceptance timelines are published, but a specific public refund policy for tuition/fees was not posted in the materials reviewed. Families should expect the enrollment contract and tuition-payment portals to state any contractually binding refund/withdrawal terms.

Fee payment options (methods accepted)

- Credit-card payments are accepted via the school's payment portal. FACTS Tuition Payment Plan is available for scheduled bank/ACH withdrawals or card processing via FACTS. The school also provides an international payments option and a tuition payment portal/online payment facility; families may use those systems for one-time or recurring payments. Specific merchant surcharges or processing fees (if any) are managed through those payment processors.

Refunds / gaps found in published information (brief summary)

- The school's public pages list annual tuition figures for day, boarding, and ESL students (published for past academic years) and state that flexible payment plans exist, but they do not publish a public breakdown of tuition by term (e.g., per trimester/semester) nor a detailed, publicly posted refund/withdrawal schedule. Application or acceptance deposit amounts and certain program-specific fee amounts (uniform total cost, specific equestrian or activity fees) are not published as schoolwide, fixed fees in the materials reviewed.
