Introduction

The International Academy of Macomb is a county‑wide International Baccalaureate (IB) magnet school in Clinton Township, Michigan (42755 Romeo Plank Rd) that offers the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the IB Diploma Programme (DP). The school's curriculum is organised as a high‑school programme serving grades 9–12: ninth and tenth‑grade courses prepare students for the DP, which begins in eleventh grade, and transfer entry is limited to grades 9–10. The language of instruction is English; the school's language policy identifies IB Language B study options including French, German and Spanish and provides native‑tongue support. Notable features published by the school include a one‑to‑one laptop programme on a wireless campus, a closed‑campus cafeteria and district transportation to the school, a 190‑day extended school year with a block schedule, and a range of IB‑aligned courses in the arts, sciences and humanities. The IAM describes itself as the county's all‑IB school and reports consistently high IB Diploma acquisition rates across recent cohorts.
