Billing schedule and payment terms

History
GEMS Our Own English High School Dubai is one of the oldest schools in the country and the flagship school of GEMS. It has served students for over five decades and celebrated its Golden Jubilee on April 9, 2018, marking its evolution from a single classroom with 27 students and three teachers to a large campus. The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, and enrolls over 10,000 students from 17 nationalities. It operates as a co-educational setting from Kindergarten to Grade 4, with boys admitted only in these grades, and remains a girls-only school from Grade 5 to 12. The school emphasizes sports and extracurricular activities and has been rated Very Good by DSIB for eight consecutive years.

Community
The school community emphasizes a strong parent–school partnership. Our Own Voice is the Parent Focus Group, established during the Parent Engagement Week in January 2011, with parents representing across grades. Admissions

Admissions
1. The admissions process is designed to be straightforward and compliant with KHDA and GEMS Education policies. Co-education is followed from Kindergarten to Grade 4; Grades 5 to 12 admit girls only, and the school does not secure admission for boys after Grade 4.

2. Registration is online in October each year; parents must register their child by completing the Student Registration form.

3. Age requirements: KG1 requires the child to be 4 years old as of 31 March of the admission year; Grade 1 requires the child to be 6 years old as of 31 March.

4. Documentation: four passport copies with a valid UAE visa; five recent photographs (6x4 cm); three birth certificates in English or Arabic (original for verification); one Emirates ID copy for the child and one for the parents; a photocopy of the last examination mark sheet (for Grade 1 and above); the original vaccination card and one photocopy; the original Emirates IDs of the student and the parents (and copies). For Grade 2 and above, the original Transfer Certificate/School Leaving Certificate must be submitted and attested as required. Attestation requirements vary by origin: India (TC verified by Local Education Authority; seal and Education Officer attested by Indian Consulate in Dubai; MFA attestation); Gulf Countries other than UAE & Oman (TC attested by Indian Consulate; local MOE verification; UAE MFA attestation); Oman (attestations as above).

5. All admissions for KG–Grade XII completed after 15 June require a studying/discontinued Transfer Certificate valid for 30 days from the last date of attendance.
