Application and enrolment fees
- Application fee (new applicants): Day students CAD 100; Boarding students CAD 200.
- One-time acceptance fee (new students): CAD 4,000, payable with the signed Offer Letter and non-refundable.
- Deposit on acceptance: Day students CAD 6,500 applied toward tuition; Boarding students CAD 15,000 applied toward tuition and boarding. These acceptance deposits are non-refundable and are forfeited if the student does not attend.
Tuition and boarding fees (annual totals by year group)
- Day students (Grades 4–8): CAD 34,000 per year.
- Day students (Grades 9–12): CAD 37,000 per year.
- Domestic boarding students (7-day): CAD 79,000 per year.
- Domestic boarding students (5-day): CAD 72,000 per year.
- International boarding students: CAD 86,500 per year.
Billing schedule and payment terms (schedules and penalties)
- Fees are billed in advance; accounts receive monthly statements and payment is due upon receipt. Outstanding fees at billing are subject to late payment interest at a rate of 18% per annum, calculated monthly.
- Standard payment plan options (examples of permitted plans and timelines):
- Single payment (full payment) due on the school's stated early-payment date.
- Two-installment plan with fixed dates (first installment due in spring, second installment due later in the summer/early fall).
- Monthly installment plans across a set range of months (school-specified monthly schedule).
Specific installment amounts, due dates and any early-payment discounts are applied according to the School's published payment-plan structure and are billed through the Finance Office. Accounts not paid in accordance with the selected plan are subject to the School's late-payment policies.
Boarding-specific fees and conditions
- Boarding fees listed above include room and board and the boarding component of school services as specified by the School. Eligibility rules apply for 5-day domestic boarding (parents must live in Ontario).
- Health insurance for all international students is mandatory: CAD 925 per year, billed to the student account.
Other mandatory and ancillary fees
- Technology fee for lower grades (Grades 4–6): CAD 400.
- Transportation fee (when applicable): CAD 200.
- Parents/guardians living outside Canada are required to provide a CAD 1,000 deposit on account to cover incidental extras (textbooks, personal supplies, co-curricular extras, uniform, etc.).
- Additional charges that may be billed to student accounts include (but are not limited to): textbooks and online resources; musical instrument rental/purchase; select co-curricular activities and athletic team fees (e.g., robotics, rowing); school-store purchases; personal supplies; uniform; optional transportation; additional ESL support where applicable; and after-care services.
Refunds and cancellation terms
- Acceptance deposits and the one-time acceptance fee are non-refundable and will be forfeited if the student fails to attend.
- For international students who cannot obtain a Canadian Study Permit or Student Visa and who provide written notice with supporting documentation, the School's reimbursement policy provides set refunds depending on the date of notice:
- Notice prior to May 31: full refund less the application fee and one-time acceptance fee.
- Notice between June 1 and August 31: full refund less CAD 3,000 and the one-time acceptance fee.
- Notice after September 1: full refund less CAD 5,000 and the one-time acceptance fee.
- The School reserves the right to withhold refunds of deposit and fees in other withdrawal or dismissal circumstances as described in its fee policy; outstanding balances remain the financial responsibility of the parents/guardians.
Fee payment methods
- Accepted payment methods include cheque, online banking, Interac e-transfer to finance@trafalgarcastle.ca, wire transfer, WeChat Pay and Alipay. Credit-card payments (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) can be accepted via a third-party processor (Plastiq) and are subject to a third-party processing fee.
Discounts and financial assistance
- A limited Financial Assistance program is available and awards are based on demonstrated need up to a maximum percentage of tuition as determined by the School's Financial Aid Committee. A sibling/alumnae discount applies as specified by School policy. Application timing and eligibility rules apply.
