Boarding Arrangements

The school offers boarding for Grades 9-12 with about 280 boarders. Boarders come from over 35 countries and live in comfortable, well-appointed dorms. They are supported by a circle of care including house staff, an academic advisor, guidance counsellor and health-care professionals. There are weekend activities on campus and organized trips; long weekends involve campus closures with on-campus options or guardian arrangements. An in-house culinary team prepares fresh, nutritious meals daily, including themed dinners and house breakfasts, with menus shaped by student feedback.

Uniform Requirement

The school has a two-dress-code system. Number One Dress is worn to classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and to chapel on Sundays; it includes a navy blazer with crest, white dress shirt, school tie, grey flannels or a school kilt, and black polishable shoes (shorts are optional in warm weather). Number Two Dress is worn on Tuesdays and Thursdays and allows a blazer or blue-crested sweater/vest with a short-sleeved shirt or polo; other items are the same as Number One Dress. Tuesdays are designated as Wacky Tie Days.

There are 10 Senior School houses, named after former faculty members or benefactors; a student is assigned to a house based on whether they are boarding or day. Langmuir Cup is awarded based on year-long competitions in debating, drama and athletics.

Governance and Ownership

The Governing Body is comprised of the TCS Board of Governors and the TCS Body of Trustees. The Board acts as a steward of the mission of the Corporation of Trinity College School and oversees the School's strategic direction; it is the primary policy-making body. The Body of Trustees provides advice to the Board and head of school as to the achievement of the School's mission.

Curriculum

The Senior School offers more than 120 courses across nine academic departments, with travel-based and online learning options. Advanced Placement (AP) courses are available, including the AP Capstone Diploma program. The AP Capstone Diploma requires two Grade 12 courses: Challenge and Change in Society (with AP Seminar extension) and Interdisciplinary Studies (with AP Research extension). English as an Additional Language (EAL)

English as a Second Language, Level 4 (ESLDO) is offered in the Senior School. ESL levels include ESLDO and ESLEO. If English is not a student's first language, TOEFL Jr or Duolingo is used for admission.

The guidance department supports the growth and development of every student, including emotional health. The Health Centre provides comprehensive health care and health education to all students. Admissions

Step 1 - Parent Questionnaire: Create an account in FinalSite, submit the Parent Questionnaire and the $150 application fee. If you are not ready to start the application process and would like to inquire, book a campus visit, or attend an open house, contact admissions. Step 2 - Application Checklist: After submitting the Parent Questionnaire, the admissions team imports your form and you can view the application checklist in the parent portal. The checklist includes a Teacher Recommendation Form (English or Math), a Student Self-Reflection Questionnaire, year-end academic reports for the last two years, and a photo of the passport showing the full legal name. If planning to apply for a need-based bursary, complete the Apple Financial Services process concurrently; bursaries are determined by the Financial Assistance Committee and may cover up to 75% of tuition, depending on budget. Early applications are advantageous. Step 3 - Assessment Activities: Assessment activities capture a student's current skills and learning profile and are one of the elements considered by the Admissions Committee. Senior School applicants complete a virtual English and Math assessment (40 minutes) with a short writing sample; if English is not the first language, submit results from SSAT, TOEFL, CAT, MAPS, or Duolingo English Test, or arrange alternative testing. Junior School applicants complete a writing and a math assessment in a group setting; international applicants may arrange virtual testing and may use TOEFL Jr or Duolingo. The calendar for booking the assessment is available in August. Step 4 - Student Interview: Interviews are an opportunity for the student to tell their story. There is no required preparation for the interview. Senior School interviews are typically conducted during a campus visit after most requirements are submitted, with international students offered Zoom or in-person options if travel is arranged. Junior School applicants participate in an on-campus interview and a short reading activity during a campus visit; international arrangements may be made virtually. Step 5 - Receive your admissions decision: Boarding applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis and typically hear within two weeks of completing the application. Junior and Senior Day programs have two admission rounds: Round 1 due November 13, 2026 with decisions communicated December 15, 2026; Round 2 due February 1, 2027 with decisions communicated February 15, 2027; after these rounds, applications are reviewed on a rolling basis as space permits.
