Application fees
- A non-refundable application/deposit of CAD 50 is required with the application. Payment methods accepted for this deposit include cash, cheque payable to MCI, credit card, or e-transfer to accounting@mciblues.net.
Tuition and boarding (annual amounts)
- Day-student tuition (per year): CAD 6,700.
- Boarding (room & board) (per year): CAD 12,500.
- Out-of-province / international students (tuition + room & board, per year): CAD 19,000. This total includes an out-of-province/international surcharge of CAD 6,500 for students not covered by provincial education grants.
- The school operates on a semester basis for enrolment (options for Semester 1 only, Semester 2 only, or both semesters), and the published annual figures above are stated as yearly amounts.
Flexible tuition and family discounts
- The school offers a Flexible Tuition program: tuition rates can be set on a per-family basis after submission of a financial profile. This means individual family tuition rates may differ from the headline amounts.
- Family discount for multiple children: for each additional child from the same family the reductions are: Tuition reduced by CAD 750; Room & Board reduced by CAD 500; Transportation reduced by CAD 40.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- A CAD 50 non-refundable deposit is collected with the application. Accepted payment methods for school fees and deposits include cash, cheque, credit card, and e-transfer to the school accounting email.
- In the event of withdrawal or dismissal, fees owing are calculated to the end of the month in which the withdrawal or dismissal occurs, plus tuition (and room & board, where applicable) for one additional month. International fees are non-refundable.
- The school uses flexible-tuition arrangements; families are required to submit a financial profile to have a specific rate set. Contact with the admissions/finance office is used to arrange and confirm billing and payment schedules.
Boarding details and fees
- Dormitory (boarding) is available. Dorm rooms are generally double-occupancy with shared bathroom facilities; dorm life includes deans and 24-hour supervision. The annual boarding charge listed above (CAD 12,500) applies to students living in dorms.
Other costs and routine fees
- Out-of-province/international surcharge: CAD 6,500 when applicable; included in the CAD 19,000 international total above.
- Chromebook: each student is provided with a Chromebook when beginning at the school (technology provision noted in materials). Additional technology-user charges or optional course/activity costs may apply in some years.
- Transportation: a school van route is available; transportation is treated as a charge item (family discount notes a CAD 40 reduction for additional children).
- Incidental fees that commonly apply at similar schools — for example activity or extracurricular fees, special program charges, and field-trip costs — are possible; families should expect separate charges for optional activities and some co-curricular items. The school's materials reference a broader set of school fees and optional charges administered in addition to basic tuition/room-and-board.
Uniforms and supplies
- The school materials do not list a mandatory uniform fee; students are provided a Chromebook and the school describes a casual dress environment. Families should budget for personal supplies, course materials, and activity-specific equipment as required by particular programs.
Refund information
- The CAD 50 application/deposit is non-refundable. International fees are explicitly non-refundable. On withdrawal or dismissal, fees owing are calculated to the end of that month plus an additional month's tuition (and room & board if applicable).
Fee payment options
- Accepted payment methods include: cash, cheque payable to the school, credit card, and e-transfer to accounting@mciblues.net. Flexible tuition arrangements and payment schedules are handled through the admissions/finance office.
Note on current status and availability of 2026/27 scheduling
- The school announced a pause/closure process in mid-2025; operations for the following school year were paused. The numeric fee figures provided above reflect the most recent published annual amounts available (annual/day/boarding/international) and the school's stated flexible-tuition and refund/payment terms. Where an exact per-term or per-grade fee table was not published, the school's materials describe annual amounts, semester enrolment options, and the flexible tuition approach described above.
Summary of what could not be located in published materials
- A grade-by-grade fee table (separate charges for Grades 9, 10, 11, 12) and a published per-term invoice schedule with fixed instalment amounts were not available in the school materials reviewed. The school publishes annual headline amounts, uses a flexible-tuition process, and provides family discounts as noted above.
