Introduction

Middle East International School (MEIS) in Riyadh is a long-established international school serving KG to Grade 12. Founded in 1998 by Dr. Ahmad Al Mutib to serve expatriate families, the school offers an American curriculum for all grades and an IGCSE option for Grades 9 through 12, providing continuity from early years through external examinations such as SAT, IGCSE, AS and A levels. In January 2020 MEIS moved to a modern campus in Al Murouj, featuring four two-storey buildings (separate for girls and boys), four large playgrounds, and more than 150 classrooms. All spaces are equipped as smart classrooms with projectors and computers. The campus houses six computer labs, six science laboratories, three libraries and three clinics to support teaching and wellbeing. MEIS serves a multicultural, multilingual student body and is Cognia-accredited, with enrichment activities offered year-round to develop lifelong learners and responsible global citizens. Fostering global citizenship for all.

Admissions

Admissions

Admission Requirements. Admissions are based on the placement exam result and space availability. For Grades 2–12, students must take a placement exam in English and Math and achieve a passing grade of 50%. The placement exam tests material from the previous class. For Grade 1 and KG, admission is based on an interview with the coordinator of the concerned section. Admission Process. Visit the school on Sundays through Thursdays from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm to fill the placement confirmation form. Complete the placement test for Grades 2–12 or an interview for KG and Grade 1. If the student is eligible, a link for online registration is provided; the parent fills, prints, and signs it. Submit the registration form with all required documents and pay the first installment of tuition to secure admission. Student Registration Procedure. The parent can bring the child to the school during the stated days and times. The registration file is checked for documents including the student's Iqama/ID and passport copy (Mother's Passport copy if the student's name is included in the mother's passport), Father's Iqama/ID and passport copy (Mother's Iqama copy if she is the sponsor), Birth certificate, Vaccination card, Introduction letter from the father's sponsor, and the original report cards from Grade 1 onward with the required stamps. The school may require MOE equivalence and attestations for the prior curriculum, Noor transfer, and ministry approvals as applicable. After document verification, data is entered in the accounting system and the first tuition installment is due. Arabic notes translate to: 'Admission papers will not be accepted until the applicant passes the entrance test' and 'Please bring these documents for registration after the school contacts you.' Notes. Failing to complete admission formalities within the stipulated time leads to cancellation of admission. The school reserves the right to reject any admission without assigning any reason. All admissions are subject to approval from the Ministry of Education.
