Small classes provide individual attention, and pupils are taught in English and Portuguese by qualified staff, with time divided equally between the two languages and curricula. St James' School was officially inaugurated on 4 December 2007 by the deputy Mayor of Cascais, Mr. Carlos Carreiras, and the director of the British Council, Lisbon, Mr. Jonathan Gaytner.
