International French School of Amsterdam is an AEFE‑affiliated French establishment approved by the French Ministry of Education. The school operates on two central‑west Amsterdam sites: the Primary School at Anthonie van Dijckstraat 1 and the Middle/High School at Veerstraat 48. It delivers the French national curriculum with a fully bilingual approach from preschool. From age 3, students receive 13 hours of French, 11 hours of English and 2 hours of Dutch per week; Dutch is taught as an additional language while immersion continues in French and English. A British international track runs from 6th to 10th grade for studies in English. The middle school culminates in the Diplôme national du brevet, and the lycée offers the International French Baccalaureate (BFI). The school is a member of Globeducate and part of the AEFE network. The campuses are in the centre west of Amsterdam and are about eight minutes apart by bike or 30 minutes on foot. Both sites feature modern facilities including libraries, outdoor spaces, and, in the secondary buildings, a Fab Lab and science laboratories.
Preschool (Nursery) to High School (ages 2-18). From middle school, pupils can join the British international track; at lycée, the International French Baccalaureate (BFI) is offered. All pupils take the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) at the end of middle school and continue to the baccalaureate.
The International French School of Amsterdam is a co-educational day school. It does not offer boarding facilities, but it does provide an optional after-school care service until 7:00 PM for children aged 2 to 12.

The school day runs Monday through Friday from 7:40 AM to 5:15 PM (7:45 AM on Wednesdays). Secondary class times are 8:00 AM–12:05 PM and 1:00 PM–5:05 PM, with breaks; Primary classes run 8:00 AM–3:30 PM. Primary lunch is 12:05 PM–1:00 PM; secondary lunch is 12:05 PM–1:00 PM.
The school offers a bus transport service to assist families with the daily commute between home and the campuses. 2. Begin the Admissions Process: Applications are accepted for students from preschool (age 2) through Grade 11, with Grade 12 opening in September 2025.
3. Secure Enrollment: Upon an offer of admission, the non-refundable first inscription fee (DPI) of €1,500 must be paid within seven days. From the second year of enrollment, a non-refundable annual registration fee (DAI) applies (€400 for 2025-2026; €500 for 2026-2027).
4. Apply for Scholarships (If Applicable): French families registered with the Consulate of France in Amsterdam may apply for AEFE scholarships. Eligible students must be French citizens, reside in the Netherlands with a legal guardian, and be at least 3 years old. Application materials and further details are available through the Consulate's social service.
Scholarships: The International French School d'Amsterdam is an AEFE partner, and French families registered at the Consulate of France in Amsterdam whose children attend the school may receive a school scholarship under certain conditions. Scholarships are decided by the Consular Council for School Scholarships (CCB). To be eligible, the child must be French, reside in the Netherlands with a parent or legal guardian, be at least 3 years old in the calendar year of the start of the school year, and be enrolled at the Consulat général de France à Amsterdam in an AEFE‑approved school.
