Per‑term / installment detail
- Payment frequency options: annual payment (one sum) or two installments. For existing pupils the fee is normally paid in two installments; the first installment is due by 1 May and the second installment by 1 November. New families receive an invoice schedule when a place is offered. If the two installments are paid as equal halves, each installment would equal half of the annual total (i.e. half of €6,990 = €3,495); this split is an arithmetic inference based on the published annual total and the two‑installment schedule.

Billing schedule and payment terms
- Existing pupils: first installment due 1 May to secure a place for the following year; second installment due 1 November. New pupils: an invoice schedule is issued with the offer of a place. Annual payment by single invoice can be arranged by contacting the school.

Payment account / payment method
- Payments should be deposited by bank transfer to:
- Account name: STG HSV ID FEES
- IBAN: NL87 ABNA 0245720170
- BIC: ABNANL2A
- The published instructions specify deposit into the account above (bank transfer). No other payment methods (for example credit card) are listed in the published fee information.

Boarding fees
- Not applicable. HSV International Primary School operates as a day school and does not provide boarding; therefore there are no boarding fees.

Other costs / additional charges
- Lunchtime supervision fee: €190 per child per year (included in the combined annual total above when referenced as €6,990).
- School uniform: no school uniform is required. A PE kit (HSV T‑shirt and shorts) is required for PE lessons; parents should expect to provide appropriate PE clothing. No uniform purchase price is published as a compulsory fee.
- After‑school care (BSO) or holiday care: after‑school/holiday childcare is organised by external providers and any associated fees are charged separately by those providers (not included in the HSV international tuition fee).

Refunds and cancellation
- Cancellation by new families: if a family declines an offered place the school requests notice ideally before 1 June and at the latest by 1 August. If notice of cancellation is given by those dates, the first installment of the school fee for new families will be refunded in full. There is currently no cancellation fee for timely notification. The application fee (€150) is non‑refundable.

Notes on billing practice
- The published school fees are for the 2026–27 academic year and the amounts and dates above reflect the school's published schedule for that year. Where mid‑year joining occurs the published pro‑rata amounts above apply. For new pupils an invoice schedule is issued with the offer of a place and must be followed for payment timing.

Parent Experience

History

Since 1986, HSV International Primary School has provided primary-aged children with exceptional educational experiences. Generations of HSV pupils have enjoyed and thrived on the wonderfully diverse opportunities on offer at HSV. These opportunities are offered within the commitment to developing the whole child to become internationally-minded leaders. This is what global citizenship and lifelong learning mean for HSV.

Community

The school unites Dutch and international cultures through a globally focused curriculum delivered in small learning environments. It recognises and embraces the home languages and cultures that expatriate families bring, with diversity enriching the education offered. The Haagse Bos and accessible public transport support outdoor learning and cultural excursions in and around The Hague. Life in The Hague provides practical tips and resources for expat families relocating.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

HSV Parent Bodies include the Participation Council (MR), the General Participation Council (GMR), the Parent Activity Committee (OAC), and 2HSV. The MR (Medezeggenschapsraad) represents parents/guardians, students and teachers and advises the senior management team on whole-school issues; it can review proposals before finalisation and meets at least six times a year. Seats are allocated by location (NSL, BZH, VNS) and the MR operates with English as its working language. The GMR is the multi-school governance body that sets policy for the foundation, discussing the budget, annual report, school policies and personnel; minutes and the statute are available. The OAC consists of eight parents across locations and organises events such as Sinterklaas, Christmas, the Summer Party and Book Week, coordinating with staff. 2HSV is a fundraising foundation created by parents and HSV alumni to support school projects, such as upgrading the yard, purchasing instruments and iPads; sponsorship and board membership opportunities are available.
Extra-Curricular Activities

Arts & Creative

Music, Expressive Art and Physical Education are core curricular areas. All pupils have a minimum of one lesson per week of music, handicraft and gym. Host Country, Culture and Language (HCCL) connects HSV pupils with the Dutch community by studying Dutch culture and language. All children have the opportunity to experience Dutch celebrations and learn why and how these take place. Children who access the International Department curriculum in English have Host Country Culture and Language lessons. The focus of HCCL lessons is to learn the Dutch language, whenever possible through a cultural context, with three Dutch lessons per week for ID EYFS to ID2; ID3 to ID6 follow a similar approach to support language development.
