History
The Independent School Batam (ISB), formerly The International School Batam, was established in August 1999 under Yayasan Sekolah Internasional on Batam Island, Indonesia. It is now under Yayasan Pendidikan Multinasional Ramdani. It was established by a group of expatriate parents who desired the best education for their children. When first established, the curriculum was provided and advised by the British International School in Jakarta. The Independent School Batam is a non-profit oriented school with open management, focusing solely on delivering the best education for its students.

Community
ISB is a community where people care for one another, help new students feel welcome, enjoy school life, and respect the cultural diversity of many nationalities. In 2025, the school celebrated its silver jubilee, marking 25 years since the founding. A range of events and activities are documented, including School Graduation 2025, Final Year Performance 2025, Primary Excursion Science Center 2025, School Fun Day Games 2025, and Camping 2025 to Bukit Lawang.
