Bina Bangsa School began with the Kebon Jeruk campus in Jakarta in 2001, using the Singapore-based Cambridge curriculum. It has expanded to six campuses across Indonesia, including Balikpapan. Founders and leaders include Surya Putra Subandi as Founder & President Director, Lie Ngian Keng as Co-Founder & Academic Development Advisor, and Paulus Sia as Co-Founder & Academic Development Advisor; Zenobia Subandi is Corporate Secretary and Lanrika Rusli is Operational Director. The Kebon Jeruk campus pioneered initiatives such as smart school projects, a Bilingual–Bicultural Studies Program, and the BBS Model United Nations.
