Introduction

ACS Jakarta is a K‑12 international school in Cilangkap and an IB World School with Cambridge Centre status. The curriculum includes Cambridge Primary, Cambridge IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. School day structure
Students arrive by 7:25am and morning assembly occurs before lessons begin at 7:50am. Kindergarten finishes at 12:00pm, Grades 1–6 finish at 2:30pm, and Grades 7–12 finish at 3:30pm, after which Co-Curricular Activities run. Primary runs a 45-period week (about 9 periods per day) and Secondary runs 49–54 periods per week (about 10–11 periods per day); each period is 35 minutes with Snack Time and Lunch Break.

The school has four houses – KHD, Kartini, Oldham and Thoburn. The aim of the House system is to promote and develop clean and keen competition in sports and other areas, both individually and amongst the Houses. Ki Hajar Dewantara (KHD) is named after Ki Hajar Dewantara, a pioneer of Indonesian education; Kartini is named after Raden Ajeng Kartini, a national heroine who fought for women's rights; Oldham is named after Bishop William F Oldham, founder of ACS in 1886; Thoburn is named after Bishop James Thoburn, a pioneer of the ACS mission.

Governance and Ownership
ACS Jakarta is part of the Anglo-Chinese School family of schools and was the first overseas ACS campus. In 2006 it moved to a purpose-built campus in Cilangkap. ACS Jakarta teaches IB (DP), Cambridge (Primary), Cambridge IGCSE for students aged 4 to 18.

Curriculum
IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) at ACS Jakarta; authorized since 2007. A three-year Pre-IB pathway is offered for Grade 10 intake and feeds into the IBDP, while the IGCSE pathway leads into the IBDP. The Diploma Programme comprises six subject groups and a DP Core (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, Creativity, Activity and Service). Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
ACS Jakarta emphasizes intellectual, personal, emotional, and social growth within a holistic learning environment. English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Parent Experience

History
Sekolah Tiara Bangsa was established in Cibubur in July 1996 by a group of parents with English as the language of instruction. It grew and in 2002 entered into a partnership with Anglo Chinese School in Singapore to strengthen its academic programmes. In July 2006, the school became ACS Jakarta, the first overseas campus of ACS, and moved to a custom-built campus in Cilangkap. Today ACS Jakarta is a selective K-12 school for academically promising students, preparing them for continued academic success and for their future. An ACS education stands for holistic education: the total development of a child to maximize their potential for the greater good and service to others.

Community
ACS Jakarta has a House system to promote competition and teamwork; there are four houses—KHD, Kartini, Oldham and Thoburn. Ki Hajar Dewantara (KHD) and Kartini honor Indonesian figures, while Oldham and Thoburn honor leaders of ACS. The house system supports events and activities across the school year. Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
The school has a Parent Support Group (PSG) that includes mothers, fathers and grandparents; PSG volunteers plan and conduct activities and seminars for parents and students and raise support for the school. There are five outdoor tennis courts, a large soccer field, two smaller soccer fields, an indoor sport hall, and swimming pools. The sport hall contains two basketball courts, one volleyball court, a gymnasium, and six badminton courts, as part of co-curricular activities to develop students' physical potential and teamwork in house games.
