Fees

Annual tuition at European School Paris La Défense ranges from EUR 3,638 to EUR 8,358 for 2026/27.

Application fees
- There is no separate, recurring application fee to submit a registration for the European School Paris La Défense; applying and attending the school is free of charge for eligible categories.
- Families who are liable for school fees (Category III) must pay a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the annual tuition amount to confirm first enrolment or to maintain an existing enrolment when required by the school's invoicing schedule. This deposit functions as an enrolment guarantee rather than an additional application charge.

Tuition fees (annual and per-term by cycle / year group)
- The published European Schools' Category III tuition (minerval) scale applicable for the 2026/2027 school year is:
- Nursery (Maternelle): EUR 3,637.56 per year (if enrolled as a Category III pupil before 2013/2014); equivalent to EUR 1,212.52 per term.
- Nursery (new Category III enrolments from 2013/2014 onwards): EUR 4,457.80 per year; equivalent to EUR 1,485.93 per term.
- Primary: EUR 5,001.71 per year (pre-2013/2014 Category III); equivalent to EUR 1,667.24 per term.
- Primary (new Category III enrolments from 2013/2014 onwards): EUR 6,129.55 per year; equivalent to EUR 2,043.18 per term.
- Secondary: EUR 6,820.51 per year (pre-2013/2014 Category III); equivalent to EUR 2,273.50 per term.
- Secondary (new Category III enrolments from 2013/2014 onwards): EUR 8,358.46 per year; equivalent to EUR 2,786.15 per term.
- Category I pupils are exempt from school fees. (Families should confirm which enrolment category applies to their child; the Category III rates above apply where the family is liable for minerval.)

Billing schedule and payment terms
- Deposit and timing: Parents liable for the minerval are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of 25% by the date specified for that year (for new enrolments a July deadline is used; for continuing Category III pupils the deposit deadline is normally end of June). The deposit must be paid before the start of the school year to validate the place.
- Balance and invoices: The remaining 75% of the annual tuition is invoiced in the autumn; the balance is normally due within 30 days of the invoice date (invoice issued in October). Where agreed in advance and by written request, the balance may be paid by instalments on a fixed schedule. Typical instalment schedules (when permitted) spread payments across late autumn and winter dates. Failure to pay the deposit or outstanding invoices by the stated deadlines can lead to the pupil being removed from the register and to debt recovery procedures.

Boarding fees
- The European School Paris La Défense does not operate boarding facilities; boarding is not applicable. Priority and admissions criteria note the absence of an internat.

Other costs and recurring charges
- Baccalaureate registration (S7 pupils): a baccalaureate registration fee is charged for all seventh-year pupils; the published fee amount for recent sessions is in the order of ~EUR 106 (example: EUR 105.98 for the 2026 session as published for European Schools' baccalaureate charges). This is invoiced to families as a separate line.
- Classroom/teaching items and licences: some centrally billed items are charged to all parents (examples used across European Schools): Intermath set and Matific licence (about EUR 32 per primary pupil) and centrally-calculated photocopying/printing charges; lost or replacement textbooks are invoiced separately.
- School outings and class funds (early cycles): standard charges include a school excursions contribution (example: EUR 100 per child) plus a small class fund payment (example: EUR 40 per child) for nursery/primary activities; these are collected through the school invoice.
- Canteen / meals: meal service is operated under contract (example providers such as SODEXO); meal subscriptions are billed in advance (typically on a termly or quarterly basis) and depend on chosen meal options and frequency.
- University application and certification fees: where the school processes university applications or issues certified historical grade reports, fees are charged per dossier or per request (examples: university application handling typically EUR 130–260 depending on country/university; certification report approx. EUR 150 per report).
- Miscellaneous charges: replacement ID badges, fines for lost items, specific course materials, optional extracurricular or supervised-study services and certain examination or certification fees may be invoiced as applicable.

Refunds and cancellation
- The enrolment deposit (25% for Category III parents) is non-refundable. Outstanding invoices that remain unpaid by the prescribed deadline may lead to removal from the register and legal recovery of unpaid sums. Adjustments to the minerval when a family's category changes during the year are calculated pro rata for the months affected. Other refunds (for example, for cancelled trips or credited canteen days) are handled according to the school's activity and invoicing policies and are reflected on the school invoice where applicable.

Fee payment options and invoicing
- Invoicing is handled by the school's accounting department and parents receive formal invoices. The standard and widely used payment method is bank transfer; instalment payments are generally executed by bank transfers according to the instalment agreement. Schools in the European Schools network commonly use bank-transfer payments (and where available a SEPA direct-debit arrangement or specific instalment form) for fee collection; parents are required to follow the accounting instructions shown on the invoice. Payment by other means may be subject to the invoicing office's arrangements.

Practical notes (concise)
- Applying/attending: applying and attending the European School Paris La Défense is free of charge for eligible categories; families in Category III are liable for minerval per the European Schools schedule above.
- Boarding: not offered.
- Typical non-tuition items invoiced centrally: baccalaureate registration, set textbooks/licences (Intermath), photocopying, school outings, canteen subscriptions, university-file fees, and certification reports.
