Fees
Application fees

- Hasseris Gymnasium & IB World School does not charge an application fee for PreIB or the two-year IB Diploma Programme; applications are submitted through the Danish national application system (optagelse.dk) and by returning the school's IB/PreIB application form as instructed.

Tuition fees (by school year / per term)

- There is no tuition fee for attending Hasseris Gymnasium (STX) or the PreIB / IB Diploma Programme for students who attend the publicly funded programme; attendance at Danish public upper-secondary schools is provided without tuition charges.

- Because tuition is not charged, there are no per-term or per-year tuition invoices for regular classroom instruction for any year group (1.g, 2.g, 3.g or IB1/IB2).

Mandatory or programme-specific charges (by year group / profile)

- 1.g language-week (sprogskoleophold): DKK 5,000 (one-week language-school trip). This cost is charged to 1.g participants.

- 2.g class study trip (stamklasse studietur): normally up to DKK 3,500 for travel and accommodation.

- Excursions during the two yearly excursion weeks: participation in excursions of up to 3 days normally costs up to DKK 1,000 per excursion.

- Internationalisation / special study-line charges (examples; these are charged in addition to regular attendance and are programme/profile specific):
- Global Science profile: DKK 25,000 (own-payment to cover travel activities).
- Global Politics / certain social-science travel profiles: typical own-payments in the range of DKK 17,000–26,000 depending on the chosen study profile and the trips included (examples published for different study-retninger include DKK 17,000; DKK 19,000; DKK 23,000; DKK 24,000; DKK 26,000). These sums cover travel, accommodation and the organised academic programme but do not normally cover personal spending, some meals, visas or vaccinations. Payments for these profiles are charged in instalments as described below.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Regular tuition is not billed because instruction is publicly funded; no termly tuition invoices are issued for classroom teaching.

- Charges for trips, study-line packages and other participant payments are invoiced when a student is enrolled in that optional activity or study profile. Several study-profile pages and the school's participant-payment policy state that profile/trip payments are payable in instalments or quarterly (rater / kvartalsrater) rather than a single up-front lump sum. For example, certain study-line fees are explicitly described as “betales i rater” or “betales i kvartalsrater.”

- Specific due dates and instalment amounts vary by trip/profile; the school invoices participants and provides the payment schedule for each trip or study-line at the time of enrolment in that activity.

Boarding / accommodation fees

- Boarding is not part of Hasseris Gymnasium's provision; Hasseris operates as a day upper-secondary school and does not list boarding or kostskole facilities as part of its programmes. Overnight travel and accommodation costs for excursions are charged as described above, but there is no ongoing boarding fee.

Other costs and recurring ancillary fees

- IT expectation: the school provides online dictionaries and calculators free of charge, but students are expected to have their own laptop. No regular technology fee is charged for all students.

- Travel-card / daily transport co-pay: pupils may obtain youth travel cards for bus/train travel; the published co-payment for a school-day youth card was shown as an example amount (e.g., DKK 13.16 per school day for one scheme referenced on the school FAQ). Transport payment arrangements (quarterly prepayment for youth travel cards) are handled separately from school tuition.

- Unspecified extras: costs that may fall on students include personal spending on trips, optional insurances, visa fees and vaccinations when these are required for a study trip. Several profile descriptions explicitly note that pocket money, some meals, visa and vaccination costs are not included in the profile fee and are the student's responsibility.

Refund information

- The school's participant-payment policy states that all excursions are voluntary where participant payment only covers certain items (forplejning etc.) and that students with documented need can seek financial support to participate. The participant-payment statement does not publish a universal, detailed refund schedule for cancelled trips; refunds and cancellations are handled according to the specific trip's terms and by the school's guidance for that activity. Parents and students may apply for financial support in cases of need.

Fee payment options and invoicing

- The school publishes its administrative identifiers used for invoicing (CVR and EAN numbers), indicating that invoicing and payment by bank transfer / municipality invoice processing are standard for institutional billing. For parent invoicing of participant payments, study-profile pages and participant-payment documents refer to invoicing and instalment arrangements rather than specifying card-payment channels; payment is therefore typically arranged by invoice (bank transfer) with instalment schedules where applicable.

Summary (what parents should expect)

- No application fee and no tuition fee for classroom instruction (publicly funded STX / PreIB / IB).
- Expect participant payments for trips, study-line internationalisation packages and optional activities; typical amounts range from modest excursion fees (up to DKK 1,000 per short excursion) to larger study-line packages (DKK 17,000–DKK 26,000) depending on the chosen profile. 1.g language-week and 2.g study trips have established fixed-range prices (DKK 5,000 for the 1.g language week; up to DKK 3,500 for the 2.g study trip).
- Participant payments are invoiced with specified instalment schedules for the relevant profile or trip; payment methods are processed by invoice (municipality/EAN or direct invoicing) with instalment options described on the programme pages.

(For administrative contact about invoices and payment schedules see the school's IB contact and general contact details.)

Admissions

Admissions

The IB Diploma Programme is a two-year programme taught in English. Direct admission to the 2-year IB Diploma Programme is possible if you have completed the equivalent of 11 years of schooling in another system, for example the first year of the Danish Upper Secondary School Leaving Examination (stx), or have equivalent qualifications such as MYP5 or at least five passed IGCSE subjects with grade C or above. Math, English, History and two science subjects (or Coordinated Science) are expected as part of the IGCSE. If IGCSE results are not issued until August after IB1 begins, Hasseris Gymnasium may transfer IGCSE graduates from IB1 to PreIB if results are unsatisfactory. Admission is considered individually; applicants should have high English proficiency, a solid Math foundation, and submit a short personal statement. In some cases admission tests in Math, English and general scientific method may be required. If entrance requirements for the IB Diploma Programme are not met, you can enroll in PreIB, a one-year English-taught preparatory course. PreIB requires Danish 9th or 10th grade leaving exams or equivalent international exams with final exams in Math, English, History and at least two sciences; some cases require admission tests. Completing PreIB satisfactorily leads to direct transfer to the IB Diploma Programme. Generally, applicants are aged 15–18. Applications: PreIB applicants apply through optagelse.dk; the 2026–27 deadline was March 1, 2026; late applicants should contact the IB coordinator. For the 2-year IB programme, apply through optagelse.dk and download the IB1 application form; deadline was March 1, 2026; late applicants should contact the IB Coordinator. If applying from abroad without Danish parents, a guardian in Aalborg or nearby is required. IB Diploma Application Form (2026–2027) and PreIB Application Form (2026–2027) are available. How to apply: fill in the form and send it via the secure email service; for questions contact IB-coordinator Karin Skals (Head of IB Department, IB Coordinator). Tel 96327110; ks@hasseris-gym.dk.
