European School Copenhagen is an accredited European School located at Ny Carlsberg Vej 99 in the Carlsberg Byen district of Copenhagen. The school follows the curriculum of the European Schools and offers tuition-free education from Nursery class (Børnehaveklasse) through Secondary 7 (3.g), serving ages 5 to 18. Instruction is organised in three language sections—Danish, English and French—each of which is the pupil's primary language of tuition (L1); pupils also study several foreign languages (L2, L3 and optional L4/L5) and may take Latin as an optional subject in lower secondary. The Upper Secondary leads to the European Baccalaureate diploma. The school moved into a purpose-built, state-of-the-art building in Carlsberg Byen in 2018. Distinctive elements described on the school website include its multilingual, multicultural focus, programmes such as mobility and work-experience opportunities, a commitment to pupil well-being and citizenship (including work towards UNICEF Rights School status), and regular cross‑section theme weeks and cultural events.
