Application fees
- There is no separate application fee for resident students enrolling at Stratton Academy of the Arts. Registration requires proof of residency and a valid payment method; returning students register through the ParentVUE portal and new families complete in-person registration.
Tuition fees (by year group and term)
- Grades K–5 (elementary magnet program): Tuition for resident students is $0 per school year (no per-term tuition applies for local resident K–5 students). Stratton is an elementary magnet campus in the Champaign Unit 4 public school system.
- Pre‑Kindergarten: Stratton participates in the district's state-funded Pre‑K screening/enrollment; eligible Pre‑K placements are funded and do not carry a standard tuition charge for eligible students.
- Non-resident students: Illinois law allows districts to charge tuition for non-resident pupils; any non-resident tuition (when assessed) is established and administered according to state and district policy rather than as a per-grade published tuition schedule on the school page. Resident students do not pay tuition.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- For resident students there is no recurring tuition billing. When fees do apply (for registration, optional programs, activities, or certain program-specific charges), payments are typically collected at the time of registration or when the particular program/invoice is issued. Returning families use ParentVUE for online registration; new families register in person and should be prepared to provide card or check as a payment method at registration.
Boarding fees
- There is no boarding program at Stratton Academy of the Arts. The school is a K–5 day elementary magnet campus; boarding and associated fees do not apply.
Other costs and typical additional fees
- School supplies and personal items: A school supply list is provided for families; any required classroom supply contributions or personal materials (backpack, water bottle, lunchbox, etc.) are billed or purchased separately by families as indicated by the supply list.
- Optional program and activity fees: Optional or extracurricular programs, field trips, after-school care, special events, instrument or art-material fees, school photos, and other program-specific charges may carry separate fees that are billed by the district or program sponsor at the time of the activity. Fee-waiver options exist for families who qualify.
- Meal charges: Student meal purchases are handled through the district nutrition/meal program rather than as tuition; families are billed for a la carte or paid meal accounts where applicable and may apply for free/reduced meal benefits through the district. (Meal pricing and account billing are administered by the district nutrition program.)
Refund information
- Refund terms are determined by the district or by the specific program charging the fee. Some program or registration fees may be non-refundable; fee-waiver procedures are available for qualifying families. Families should follow the district or program instructions provided at time of registration for refund or cancellation handling.
Fee payment options
- Accepted payment methods for registration and district fees include card and check; returning families use the ParentVUE portal for online registration and account management; new families complete in-person registration and may pay by card or check at registration. For program-specific billing (meals, extracurriculars, extended care), the district will provide the accepted payment methods for each program. Contact the Student Assignment office at 217-373-7311 for registration payment arrangements.
