- Activities and trips: additional costs for specific activities and trips are passed to parents; one‑off charges of GBP 50 or above will normally require explicit permission. Smaller one‑off costs may be assumed with parental consent unless otherwise notified.
- Digital device charge: one‑off laptop charge GBP 750 for pupils entering Year 7 or above (added to first bill).
- Forces discount: families in receipt of CEA are entitled to a 20% discount against the boarding fee (no sibling awards in these cases).
- Sibling reductions: where three or more children from the same family attend simultaneously, a sibling reduction applies from the term the youngest starts paying full Pre‑Prep Reception fees — 10% reduction for each child when there are three children; 25% reduction for each child when there are four or more qualifying pupils. Eligibility rules apply.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Billing schedule: Fees and charges for each term are payable in full on or before the first day of the relevant term; fees for each term are due and payable as cleared funds before the commencement of that term.
- Preferred payment method: The school asks that fees and charges are paid by direct debit; direct‑debit instructions are provided by the Finance Department. Fees can be paid via monthly direct debit through the School Fee Plan service (School Fee Plan is a trading style of Premium Credit Limited). Those wishing to pay in advance may use the school's Fees in Advance scheme.
- Late payment: Overdue sums will incur a late payment surcharge / simple interest of up to 1.5% per month (charged on a day‑to‑day basis). The school may exclude a pupil for non‑payment; prolonged exclusion for non‑payment can be treated as withdrawal and a term's fees may be charged in lieu of notice.
Notice, withdrawal and refunds
- Notice period: A term's written notice is required to withdraw a pupil or to change boarding status (or change Nursery days). Where a term's notice is not given, a term's fees are due in lieu of notice.
- Deposit refunds: The Acceptance Deposit (and any Additional Deposit paid) is refundable by credit against the final account when the pupil leaves, except where the deposit is non‑refundable because the accepted place was not taken up. If fees are increased with less than a term's notice, parents may withdraw in writing within 21 days and the Acceptance Deposit and Additional Deposit (if paid) will be refunded without interest, less any sums owing to the school.
- General refunds: Fees will not be refunded, reduced or waived for absence through illness, term shortening or vacation extension, early release home before or after public examinations, temporary school closure for safety reasons, or other similar circumstances, except in exceptional cases at the sole discretion of the Head or where a legal liability requires refund.
Fee payment options and arrangements
- Direct Debit: the school requests payment by direct debit; instructions are available from the Finance Department. Fees must be cleared funds before term starts. Monthly direct‑debit instalments are available via School Fee Plan (Premium Credit Limited). Fees in Advance arrangements are available for parents who wish to pay in advance. Specific card, bank transfer or other payment acceptance is managed by the Finance Department and related payment providers; the School is an appointed representative of Premium Credit Limited for the monthly plan.
Summary note on charges and eligibility
- All stated fees include VAT where applicable. Certain charges (lessons, coaching, trips, occasional boarding, devices, meals, specific activities) are charged in addition to term fees as described above. Discounts and concessions (Forces discount, sibling reductions, scholarships/bursaries) are applied according to eligibility rules; a scholarship or bursary will reduce other eligibility discounts for that child. The Governors reserve the right to change the basis on which eligibility awards are made.
