Application / registration fees
- A non-refundable registration fee is payable to register a pupil for College entry via the full-fee route: GBP 400. Registration for the significant fee‑assistance (90–100%) route does not require this fee.
- Wellington College Prep requires a separate non‑refundable registration fee: GBP 240.
- On acceptance of a place an Administration Fee and an Acceptance Deposit (or an Overseas Deposit for pupils resident outside the UK) are payable. The Administration Fee is non‑refundable and the Deposit is refundable only in the circumstances set out in the acceptance contract. Exact acceptance/deposit amounts are specified in the Acceptance Form issued on offer.

Billing schedule and payment terms
- Fees are invoiced on a termly basis. Each term's fees fall due for payment on the first day of that term; invoices are issued in advance. Supplemental charges for the term (uniform, exam fees, trips, optional lessons etc.) are included on the term invoice and are due on the same schedule.
- Parents with a UK bank account are required to return a completed direct debit mandate before a pupil joins; the College accepts payment by direct bank transfer or by direct debit collection. The College may, by agreement, allow termly invoices to be paid in instalments by direct debit in not more than three instalments over a period not exceeding three months; such an instalment plan must be agreed in writing.
- If an item on an invoice is queried, the balance of the invoice must still be paid on time. Interest is chargeable on overdue amounts at 1.5% per month and the College may recover costs of debt recovery. Persistent non‑payment may lead to refusal of attendance, withholding of references or termination of contract.
Boarding fees and what they cover
- The published boarding fee for the senior College is charged per term (GBP 21,690 per term) and is inclusive of VAT. The termly fee covers the costs incurred in the usual course of education; certain optional or individually charged items (for example, private music tuition, some trips, public examination fees, optional insurance, visa assistance costs) are treated as supplemental charges and billed separately.
- Wellington College Prep boarding fees and flexi/occasional boarding charges are detailed above under Prep fees. Prep termly fees specify that for boarders the fee includes meals and daily boarding provisions.
Other costs and typical supplemental charges
- Uniform: the College operates a College Shop (supplied via Stevensons) for official uniform and sports kit; uniform costs are charged as supplemental items and are not covered within the standard termly fee.
- Public examination fees, individual music lessons, certain trips (especially residential or international trips), optional health/insurance policies and visa application assistance are examples of supplemental charges that are invoiced in addition to termly fees. Parents' prior consent is sought for activities where per‑pupil cost exceeds the College's stated threshold.
- The Prep school publishes small additional charges (late‑stay, occasional boarding nights, holiday provision, meals) with per‑item tariffs.
Refund and cancellation rules
- Withdrawal before a pupil starts: if written notice to withdraw acceptance is provided more than 20 months before the scheduled start date, the Acceptance Deposit will be returned and no further fees are payable. If notice is given later, or after the relevant deadlines, a term's fees in lieu of notice will usually be charged and the Deposit may be applied against that sum.
- Withdrawal part‑way through a term: withdrawing a pupil part‑way through a term does not reduce the amount owed for that term and fees or supplemental charges already billed are not refundable.
- Expulsion, rustication or required removal: no refund or remission of fees or supplemental charges is payable in respect of the term in which a pupil is rusticated, expelled or required to be removed.
- Administration Fee on acceptance is non‑refundable; the Acceptance Deposit and any Overseas Deposit are refundable only in the limited circumstances set out in the acceptance contract.
Fee payment options and practical notes
- Registration/acceptance payments: the registration fee and some admissions payments can be paid by credit or debit card; for card‑less bank transfers parents are asked to notify Admissions when a transfer is made.
- Term invoices and supplemental charges: payable by direct bank transfer or by direct debit collection; approved instalment plans use direct debit. The College may agree exceptions for parents without a UK bank account but will require an alternative cleared payment method.
- For Prep families a monthly direct debit scheme for payment of fees can be set up with the Prep Business Manager.
