Application fees
- There is no application fee for entry to Katedralskolan for applicants applying through the regular Swedish admissions processes (including the Dexter application for Uppsala‑region Pre‑DP applicants).
Tuition fees by year group (Per term / Per year)
- Year 10 (Pre‑DP): No tuition charge per term or per year. Education on the national/municipal upper‑secondary programmes (including the Pre‑DP structure used at Katedralskolan) is provided without tuition fees.
- Year 11 (DP1) and Year 12 (DP2): No tuition charge per term or per year for students enrolled in the Diploma Programme through the municipal school. Education at Katedralskolan for these year groups is not billed as tuition.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- The school does not issue tuition invoices for regular students. For any optional or chargeable services administered by the municipality (for example certain extracurricular activities, municipal housing, or other fee‑based services), invoices are issued and can be handled via the municipality's standard channels (e‑invoice, regular invoice and similar municipal payment arrangements). Payment terms for municipal invoices follow Uppsala municipality's billing procedures.
Boarding fees (if applicable)
- Katedralskolan does not operate an internal boarding/internat run by the school itself. Accommodation for students coming from elsewhere in Sweden is arranged through the municipal gymnasieboende (Uppsala Gymnasieboende) and any charges for that housing are separate from school tuition and billed by the housing provider. Parents should expect boarding to carry its own monthly or term charges set by the accommodation provider.
Any other costs or fees (uniforms, materials, meals, trips, exams)
- Uniforms: There is no school uniform requirement for Swedish upper‑secondary schools in general, and Katedralskolan does not require a uniform.
- Course materials and small personal items: Students may need to provide their own small, personal study items or subject‑specific materials when explicitly required (for example certain art or vocational supplies) — these are occasional, programme‑specific costs rather than tuition charges.
- School meals: Meals for students are served in the school restaurant (Vasaköket). Meals are provided through the school's meal service; students obtain food from the canteen and may be required to pay for certain meal options or extras according to the municipality's meal arrangements. Bread, milk and water are provided with meals.
- Field trips and voluntary activities: Voluntary trips or optional activities that are not part of the compulsory curriculum may incur charges. Any such charges are for the activity itself (transport, entrance fees, accommodation where applicable) and are handled as separate invoices or payments.
- IB‑related assessment/examination fees: The International Baccalaureate organization charges assessment and candidate fees for DP external examinations; where those fees apply they are separate from municipal tuition and may be passed on to students by the school or handled centrally. Amounts and whether the school invoices students for them vary by school and session.
Refund information
- General tuition refund: There are no tuition fees for regular study at Katedralskolan, so there is no tuition refund process for standard enrolment.
- Refunds for paid optional services: Refund and cancellation terms for any paid, optional services (for example municipal student housing, voluntary trips or paid activities) are determined by the provider that invoices for the service (municipality or third‑party organiser) and follow the municipality's billing and cancellation rules. Parents should expect standard municipal invoice rules to apply (invoicing, reminders, and the municipality's terms for cancellations/refunds).
Fee payment options (how payments are accepted)
- For any municipal invoices or chargeable services, the municipality supports standard payment channels such as e‑invoice (e‑faktura), regular invoices and other municipal payment arrangements; in some municipal contexts autogiro or direct payment channels are also available. Payment of any optional, billed items will follow those municipal payment methods.
