Billing schedule and payment terms (for any charged municipal services)
- Any municipal service that carries a charge (for example preschool or after‑school care) is debited across 12 months per year. Maxtaxa rules apply at start and fees are adjusted once income documentation is provided. Late or missing payments may lead to reminder/collection measures and, for childcare placements, termination of the place after notice.
Boarding fees
- Boarding is not offered by the International School of Boden; the ISB programmes are provided as day‑school education at local school sites. No boarding fees apply.
Other costs or fees (typical items parents should expect)
- School lunches: Daily cooked lunches are provided at school. Compulsory‑school pupils receive school meals without a separate tuition charge as part of the municipal education provision; arrangements for upper‑secondary (DP) lunch follow local gymnasium practice. Replacement or special‑diet procedures are managed by the school.
- Transport / bus cards: A fee of SEK 150 is charged for lost bus cards; defective cards are replaced free of charge. Other transport rules and entitlements (for example distance criteria for school travel) are administered by the municipality.
- Textbooks and learning materials: Required learning materials are provided on loan for the education; parents may be charged for replacement or compensation if loaned books or equipment are lost, damaged or not returned.
- Preschool and after‑school care (where applicable): These are income‑related municipal charges (not school tuition). Representative maximum monthly amounts for 2026 are published as follows: preschool — Child 1 up to SEK 1,847 / month, Child 2 up to SEK 1,231 / month, Child 3 up to SEK 616 / month; after‑school care (fritidshem) — Child 1 up to SEK 1,231 / month, Child 2 up to SEK 616 / month, Child 3 up to SEK 616 / month. These fees are calculated as percentage bands of household income and the municipality applies maxtaxa rules and seasonal reductions where specified.
- Extracurricular or optional service charges: Small fees may apply for instrument hire, equipment rental or specific voluntary activities; such charges are separate from tuition and handled through the municipality or relevant extracurricular provider.
- School locker/lock items: Locks for school lockers may be sold on site; replacement of lost keys or locks is the family's cost.
Refund information (for charged services)
- For municipal services that are subject to fees (preschool, fritidshem, rental fees etc.), fee adjustments and retroactive refunds or recoveries are handled when income or other submitted information is corrected; failure to provide required income information may lead to charge of the highest fee until documentation is supplied. Non‑payment may trigger collection procedures and may affect continued placement.
Fee payment options and practical payment handling
- Fees that are charged by Boden municipality are invoiced and processed through the municipality's billing/e‑service system. Standard municipal billing practice typically supports invoicing and bank‑based payments; recurring municipal fees are commonly handled via the municipality's invoicing and e‑service channels. For specific accepted payment methods for any charged item (invoice, bank transfer/bankgiro, direct debit/autogiro, Swish or other), the municipality's billing service or Medborgarservice provides the exact payment channels and instructions.
