The Alicante province and the Costa Blanca corridor have a high concentration of bilingual and international schools, so families can usually find British, International Baccalaureate (IB), French and Spanish-national pathways within reasonable commuting distance. Instruction is commonly English-medium or bilingual English - Spanish, although schools in the Valencian Community also teach Valencian alongside Spanish and some institutions provide French, German or other language sections. Annual tuition on the Costa Blanca varies by curriculum, campus and age but typically ranges roughly from €4,000 to €14,000 a year, with additional one-off enrolment deposits and optional extras such as transport, meals and school trips. Applications are accepted year-round, but for popular year groups it is normal to apply several months - and sometimes a year or more - ahead of a September start; most schools charge an application fee and a separate matriculation deposit and will ask for visits, testing or interviews as part of the admission process.
