Application fees
- No separate application or enrolment fee is charged for entitled children (children of Bundeswehr personnel stationed at the school). Children of non-entitled applicants are admitted only on a space-available basis and must meet the school's admission conditions; there is no separate, listed application charge in the published Schulgeld information.
Tuition fees (detailed by year group / status)
- Entitled children (active Bundeswehr personnel with duty station at the school): no tuition (attendance is free).
- Non-entitled children (admitted on a space-available basis): tuition is charged monthly while enrolled. For the published fee schedule applicable when the elementary level was operating, the rates are:
- Grundschule (elementary school, grades 1–4): EUR 475.00 per month for the first child.
- Second child: EUR 237.00 per month.
- Third child and any further children: no tuition charge.
- Tuition is charged on a monthly basis and applies throughout the school year (including school holiday periods). If a pupil begins or leaves the school during a month, the full monthly fee for that month is payable. Tuition does not cover additional expenses such as school trips.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Billing frequency: monthly tuition payments. Parents/guardians are obliged to pay the monthly tuition by the established payment dates. Tuition is payable throughout the school year, including holiday periods.
- Pro rata / mid-term starts: if the school visit begins or ends during a school year, for every commenced month the full monthly fee is due. Tuition is not reduced for cancelled lessons.
- Hardship / refunds: In cases of particular hardship the Office of Defense Administration (Bundeswehrverwaltungsstelle) may decide to reduce tuition if required documentation is provided. Until a decision is made the full tuition remains payable; if a reduction is granted, any overpaid amounts are reimbursed starting from the month the request was filed.
Boarding fees
- Boarding is not provided; there are no boarding fees. The schools are not operated as boarding institutions or all-day boarding facilities.
Other costs and incidental charges
- Schoolbooks and approved learning materials: provided by the school (no charge for standard schoolbooks).
- Additional costs that are not covered by tuition may include: class field trips, voluntary extracurricular activities that incur fees, possible costs for participation in school-provided lunch or after-school/over-time care, and costs associated with student accident insurance if arranged by parent associations. The cost of school trips and similar extras is not included in the tuition amount.
- Insurance: furnishing proof of adequate liability and accident insurance for the pupil is mandatory; families are responsible for arranging and covering such insurance. Parent associations sometimes arrange a students' accident insurance for a cost contribution.
Refunds and reductions
- General rule: tuition is due in full each month and is not reduced for holidays or cancelled lessons. In special hardship cases an application for fee reduction may be approved by the responsible Office of Defense Administration; if approved, overpayments are reimbursed from the month of application.
Fee payment options
- The published Schulgeld information specifies that monthly tuition must be paid by the established payment dates but does not list specific payment methods (e.g., bank transfer or credit card) in the fee leaflet. Payment arrangements and accepted payment methods are handled by the local Bundeswehr administrative office (Bundeswehrverwaltungsstelle).
Practical notes for parents (fees-focused)
- If your family is entitled (Bundeswehr active duty at the post), the child attends without tuition charges. Budget planning should still allow for incidental costs outside tuition (meals, trips, insurance, occasional extracurricular fees).
- If your child is admitted as a non-entitled pupil, plan for monthly tuition (as specified above for elementary school) payable throughout the school year, plus extras (school trips, lunch, optional care). In hardship cases a reduction request may be considered; full payment is required until any reduction is approved.
