Curriculum details
International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is HSV's core curriculum. The IPC is brain-friendly and fosters internationally-minded learning, organized into mileposts: Early Years Foundation Stage and Mileposts One to Three (ID1–ID6). The Early Years Programme (Foundation Stages) draws on the IPC Early Years Programme and the UK Early Learning Goals for Communication, Language and Mathematics, with strands of independence/interdependence, communication, and exploring/healthy living. The Curriculum Framework covers Literacy and Mathematics aligned with England's National Curriculum (Literacy using The Power of Reading; Mathematics using White Rose), plus Music/Expressive Art and Physical Education, ICT, and English as an Additional Language (EAL). Dutch language and host-country connections are integrated through Host Country, Culture and Language (HCCL), including three Dutch lessons per week and translanguaging to support comprehension, with Dutch progress benchmarked against the European Framework of Reference for Languages. The Social & Emotional Curriculum is guided by IPC goals and the Jigsaw framework, developing adaptable communicators, collaborators, empathetic and ethical thinkers.

The Social & Emotional Curriculum is anchored in IPC goals and the Jigsaw program, and the Early Years Foundation Stage follows the IPC Early Years Programme with UK Early Learning Goals. Host/Culture language and Dutch language learning are integrated with IPC topics, fostering international-mindedness and language development.
