The Grade 5 Lower School curriculum describes a dedicated French course within the Language programme, emphasizing listening, speaking, reading and writing in French. The programme uses the Accelerated Integrative Approach (AIM), Histoires en Action!, to teach French and develop communicative ability. The Language programme aligns with the Ontario Ministry of Education Language Curriculum released in 2023 and uses Universal Design for Learning and differentiated instruction to support language development and global citizenship. | Language provision English is the focus of language provision, with ESL support available through the AAP Program (ESL). Admissions Step 1: To apply, complete the online application. You will need digital copies of a current photograph of your child(ren), birth certificate, immunization records, and the previous two years of school reports and transcripts. You will also need credit card information to process the $100 non-refundable application fee. The application fee applies to Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12; it does not apply to Preschool (BG2 or BG3). Step 2: Preschool and Junior Kindergarten applicants and their families will be invited to an in-person visit to get to know one another and answer questions. Senior Kindergarten to Grade 5 applicants participate in a class visit followed by an entrance assessment. Prep School, Grades 6–8, applicants will participate in an interview and complete the entrance assessment. Upper School applicants, Grades 9–12, will participate in an interview and complete an essay. Step 3: Timeline: Admission meetings, interviews and assessments will be completed in the Fall and early Winter. Families will receive a follow up to their application by the end of February 2026. Now accepting applications for the 2027-2028 school year. Limited space in our Early Years programme starting in September 2026. | Admissions Complete the UIS Application Form and submit it with Supplementary Information: UIS Application Form; Official Transcript and a passport front-page copy. Send the transcripts of the last two academic years in English to the UIS Admission Department. After review, a UIS student counselor will assist with the next steps. You will receive a personalized study plan along with an invoice and CLOA (Conditional Letter of Acceptance) for payment. Pay the invoice to receive the Official Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and the official receipt; review the Refund Policy (bank information is on the invoice). Apply for a Canadian study permit and visa; processing times vary by country. Once the study permit is approved, prepare to study abroad. |

Scholarships

Scholarships Scholarships are available to Bayview Glen students in Grades 6 through 12 who write scholarship exams in February; successful students are awarded $2,000 toward next year's school fees. Financial aid is provided as bursaries on a needs basis through Apple Financial Services; applications must be submitted by December 1, and bursaries are awarded for one school year with reapplication each year. The Parent Association Community Service Scholarship awards $2,500 to a Grade 12 graduate for outstanding volunteer service; the recipient is announced at the Grade 12 Graduation Ceremony; the application form is available for download and must be submitted by the stated deadline (e.g., April 30). | Scholarships UIS Graduation Scholarship Program: The school offers a Graduation Scholarship Program. Students who have high marks in their academic year and engage in school and community activities are considered for UIS Scholarship.
