Viña del Mar’s international-school scene is small but diverse: you will find long-established bilingual schools with a British heritage, a historic German school that offers the German-language pathway and IB Diploma options, and an Italian “paritaria” school with a trilingual Spanish - Italian - English model. Common offerings include the International Baccalaureate (at least at some schools), Chile’s national curriculum delivered bilingually, and language-immersion programmes in English, German or Italian. Many private schools in the region quote one-off enrolment charges and ongoing tuition in UF (Unidad de Fomento) or as annual/monthly fees, so budget planning should allow for a non-refundable admission payment plus termly or monthly payments. The Chilean school year begins in early March, so families usually start applications in the second half of the calendar year before entry and should expect language assessments, interviews and waiting lists at popular year groups.
