Application fees and admissions deposits

- Room and Board (standard dorm fee, annual): CAD 13,210.

Standard academic and student fees (required for all students unless noted)
- Student Life Fee (annual): CAD 275.
- Standard fees for each student include activity fee, yearbook fee, student recreation fee; Grade 12 students also billed grad fee. Dorm students also receive damage deposit and mattress cover charges on first semester.
Optional and extracurricular fees
- Athletics (typical examples): Basketball CAD 300; Football CAD 300; Volleyball CAD 300; Cross Country CAD 75; Track and Field CAD 125; Golf CAD 75; Badminton participation CAD 25 (competition additional CAD 25). Hotel/tournament costs billed separately at market rates (approx. CAD 40/night shown as reference).
- Music lesson fees (per semester, 11 lessons): 60-minute lesson CAD 645; 30-minute lesson CAD 380. Practice room per semester: Piano/Voice/Drums CAD 80; Guitar/other instruments CAD 52.
- Graduation Fee (Grade 12): CAD 550 (covers retreat, hoodie, banquet – grad + 3 meals, formal pictures, after-party). Additional banquet meals billed at market rate.
- Tutoring: CAD 20 per session (minimum 1 hour).
- Plug-in fee (vehicle, per semester): CAD 100 (applied x2 for annual charging). Parking is otherwise free.
- Confirmation that other optional charges (college tuition for concurrent courses, counselling, extra support services, English+ program fees, etc.) are billed as required and vary by program. Specific program fee examples include Sask DLC online course fee CAD 500 and English+ program fees and international program supplements listed separately.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Tuition, standard fees, and room & board are billed at the beginning of the academic year. Grad fees are billed in September and included in the calculated cost of attendance. Optional fees (music lessons, college tuition, sports, counselling, tutoring) are billed as incurred.
- Payment is due in full on Check-In Day for the fall semester unless an approved alternate payment plan is in place. Monthly statements are emailed for months with activity or balances owing. A Payment Agreement selecting a Payment Plan must be submitted by all students to receive access to course registration.
Available payment plans and fees
- Two-Payment Plan: Two installments covering the year; Fall payment (minimum 50%) due on Check-In Day; remaining balance due the first day of classes in January. No payment plan fee and no interest accrual if September payment is on time (interest may begin end of January otherwise).
- Eight-Payment Plan: Tuition, room & board and standard fees split into eight equal payments (September–April). First payment due on Check-In Day; subsequent monthly payments (Oct–Apr) must be pre-authorized by credit card or direct debit. One-time financing fee CAD 100 charged at registration; no interest if payments are made on time.
- Personalized Payment Plan: Available in exceptional cases with prior approval; a one-time financing fee CAD 100 applies. Payment plan agreement and approval required before Registration Day. Submission of the payment plan agreement grants access to course registration once approved.
Accepted payment methods
- Domestic and general online options: bill payment, e-transfer, credit card. Cash payments accepted in person or by phone. Pre-authorized debit available by submitting the completed form.
- International student options: bank-to-bank transfers and PayMyTuition.
- Contact points and online payment portals are used for processing; finance office contact is available for questions and account statements.
Interest, missed payments, and collections
- Overdue accounts incur a finance charge of 1.5% per month (18% per annum) on past-due amounts.
- Minimum payments required: at least 50% of annual tuition, room & board and standard fees must be paid prior to December exams; 100% must be paid prior to April exams. Failure to meet minimums can result in being required to discontinue and withholding of final marks or transcripts until financial obligations are settled. Briercrest may use collection agencies where necessary.
Refund and withdrawal policy (charges and percentages)
- Late arrivals: Students who enter school late do not receive reductions for tuition, room, or board. Partial-attendance billing rules apply as follows:
- Attend Term 1 only: 50% of tuition/room & board charged.
- Attend Terms 1 and 2: 100% charged.
- Attend Term 2 only: 50% charged.
- Attend Terms 2 and 3: 60% charged.
- Attend Term 3 only: 20% charged.
- Refund policy (withdrawal within specified windows):
- Tuition: Full refund minus a CAD 200 deposit plus CAD 150 withdrawal fee if withdrawn within the first 10 days of Term 1; up to 30 days of Term 1 = 75% refund; not returning for Terms 2 & 3 = 50% refund; up to 30 days of Term 2 = 25% refund; after 30 days of Term 2 or Term 3 = no refund. International students have a different deposit adjustment: full refund minus CAD 500 in the event of denial of study permit or if not issued a study permit.
- Room and Board: Full refund within first 10 days of Term 1; up to CAD 150 per calendar week of remaining weeks in Term 1 for that period; Term 2 and Term 3 prorations/refunds handled as described (Term 2 and 3 refunded in full under certain withdrawal windows; Term 3 only is 20% refund).
- Fees: Full refund within first 10 days of Term 1; up to 50% through first 30 days of Term 1; generally no refund for later withdrawals.
- English+ program: Full refund less CAD 1,000 if withdrawn within the first 10 days of Term 1; scaled refunds follow similar percentages as tuition for later windows.
Other one-time and administrative fees
- Payment Plan Fee (financing fee): CAD 100 (charged at time of registration for financed plans).
- Confirmation deposit and online registration fees noted above; withdrawal fee CAD 150 for early-term withdrawals.
Notes regarding residence and program-specific charges
- Residence charges include the standard room & board fee and the first-semester damage deposit and mattress cover charge; residence life policies govern deposit handling and potential additional charges for damage. Campus dorm program extras (supervision, special programming) may be included or billed separately as required.
