Introduction

Founded in 1924, the International School of Geneva offers the full International Baccalaureate continuum (PYP, MYP, DP) for ages 3 to 18. Across three Geneva campuses—Campus des Nations, La Grande Boissière and La Châtaigneraie—the school provides bilingual or English-dominant instruction, with a broad World Languages Programme from Arabic to Urdu and a compulsory third language from Year 7 (Spanish or German). Billing schedule and payment terms
- Tuition instalment schedule and due dates for 2025–2026: 1st instalment 20% due 30 June 2025; 2nd instalment 30% due 31 August 2025; 3rd instalment 30% due 31 December 2025; 4th instalment 20% due 31 March 2026. Any other invoices are payable by the date shown on the invoice.
- New students enrolled after 30 June are invoiced at the first invoicing date following enrolment; students arriving during the year are invoiced pro rata (from October) based on their start date. Tuition fees include books and teaching materials; they do not include capital development contributions, external exam fees, trips, transport, cafeteria or extra-curricular activities (these are invoiced separately).
- Late payment: the school may charge a late payment fee on each overdue instalment up to a maximum of 1.25% of the amount due per month of delay; failure to settle invoices on the due date may result in refusal of entry to class, withholding of diplomas, reports and transcripts.
- Any started school term is fully due; withdrawal and cancellation penalties follow the published schedule (see Refunds/Withdrawals below). Registration and Capital Development one-time fees must be paid within 15 days of acceptance to secure a place.

- After School Care (ASC): flat-rate ASC charges apply and are invoiced separately by term; no reduction is given for flat-rate ASC in case of absence. Cancellation rules apply and require written notice at least one month before the end of the term.

Refunds, cancellations and withdrawal penalties (academic year 2025–2026 rules)
- Registration and Capital Development one-time fees are non-refundable. The advance payment for re-enrolment (CHF 1,000) is non-refundable if the student does not return, though it is deducted from the first instalment if the student does return.
- Withdrawal penalty schedule (applies to the 2025–2026 enrolment cycle):
- Withdrawal communicated up to and including 30 April 2025: no penalty (non-refundable fees are not reimbursed).
- Withdrawal between 1 May and 15 June 2025 (inclusive): penalty = 15% of annual tuition.
- Withdrawal between 16 June and 31 July 2025 (inclusive): penalty = 25% of annual tuition.
- Withdrawal between 1 August and 30 September 2025 (inclusive): invoiced for the entire 1st school term.
- Withdrawal between 1 October and 31 December 2025 (inclusive): invoiced for the entire 1st and 2nd school terms.
- Withdrawal from 1 January 2026 onward: invoiced for 100% of the annual tuition.
- In the event of illness lasting more than four weeks, refunds for certain services (e.g., cafeteria, transport) may be considered on request and require a medical certificate; such requests must be made promptly on return.

Other invoices: parents indicate their preferred payment method via the Parent portal financial section — options include e-payment through the parents' bank platform, the Swiss payment slip system (bulletin de versement, BVR), or bank transfer to the Foundation account. The Foundation bank account for transfers is held at UBS (IBAN CH45 0024 0240 2899 4620 F; SWIFT/BIC: UBSWCHZH80A) for the settlement of registration and related enrolment fees.

Curriculum
All programmes are bilingual or English-dominant depending on campus, with English and French mastery encouraged and a broad World Languages Programme offering languages from Arabic to Urdu. Campus des Nations uses English as the primary language of instruction in Primary, while La Grande Boissière and La Châtaigneraie offer English-dominant or French-dominant dual-language programmes. From Year 7, students choose a third language (Spanish or German) and study core subjects in English and French across campuses. Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
Learning support and ESP respond to educational and socio-emotional needs, developing independence, capacity for action and confidence. Two types of support are offered for students with special learning needs: Learning support for mild to moderate difficulties and the Extended Support Programme (ESP) for moderate to pronounced difficulties. ESP places are capped at 2% of total enrolment per campus and an Individual Education Plan is created for each participant. Each ESP student remains in a mainstream class while receiving tailored support in ESP facilities, with timetables adapted to the student's profile. ESP students can access additional social and emotional support, including art therapy, adapted sport and dance. Guidance Counsellors and a pastoral team provide ongoing emotional support and guidance to students and families.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Two types of support address the needs of students with special learning needs: Learning support for mild to moderate difficulties and the Extended Support Programme (ESP) for moderate to pronounced difficulties. ESP is available in French and English at La Grande Boissière and La Châtaigneraie, and in English at Campus des Nations. Places in ESP are limited to 2% of total enrolment per campus. An Individual Education Plan is drawn up for each ESP participant, with a mainstream class placement and targeted specialist sessions. ESP also provides social and emotional support, including art therapy, adapted sport and dance. Secondary pupils can prepare for ASDAN qualifications, and where possible access to IBDP, IBCP, IGCSE and Swiss maturité depending on campus.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Campus des Nations Secondary provides English-language teaching, complemented by French classes and francophone teachers for selected subjects. English-language teaching is supported by English as an additional language. La Grande Boissière and La Châtaigneraie offer bilingual programmes where English and French are used to teach many subjects from Primary through Secondary. Mental Wellbeing
Mental wellbeing is supported across campuses by Guidance Counsellors and pastoral teams. The Guidance departments accompany students toward success with regular individual meetings and university or career guidance. Campus des Nations Secondary emphasises inclusive practice and wellbeing through learning support and English as an additional language. La Châtaigneraie's Campus Hub places student wellbeing at the centre of its design, with spaces for collaboration, wellbeing and innovation. A dedicated Assistant Principal for Student Life and Wellbeing leads wellbeing initiatives focusing on mental health, healthy relationships, digital safety and belonging.

Safeguarding
Safeguarding and child protection are central to Ecolint's approach. The Foundation subscribes to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and is committed to promoting physical and psychological safety and wellbeing. The Safeguarding & Child Protection Handbook is reviewed annually and staff reaffirm the Code of Conduct each year. Child protection is the obligation to protect pupils up to age 18 from harm; safeguarding includes proactive measures to minimise maltreatment. Each campus maintains reporting emails for safeguarding concerns (safeguarding.lgb@ecolint.ch, safeguarding.cha@ecolint.ch, safeguarding.nat@ecolint.ch). The School Designated Safeguarding Lead coordinates responses; concerns are recorded and addressed in line with defined levels and appropriate support.
Parent Experience

History
Founded in 1924, the International School of Geneva opened on 17 September with eight students and a rabbit, established by local educators and officials from the League of Nations and the ILO to provide international education based on the éducation nouvelle movement. In 1929 the school moved to La Grande Boissière and Marie-Thérèse Maurette became director. By 1958 the student body reached 1,000, and in 1968 the Foundation of Ecolint was formed and the English-French IB Diploma Programme began. In 1974 the school merged with Lycée des Nations - Collège International de la Châtaigneraie creating the La Châtaigneraie campus, and in 1975 merged with the United Nations Primary School. Campus des Nations opened in 2005 and leadership continued with Conrad Hughes becoming Director General in 2023; the centenary was celebrated in September 2024.

Community
Community Life encompasses events spanning sports, humanitarian projects and musical activities across three campuses. Each campus hosts a vibrant Parent Teacher Association (PTA) that collaborates with campus leadership to strengthen community ties and facilitate communication between families and the school. PTA activities foster engagement and support school projects through fundraising and volunteer involvement.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
PTAs are independent bodies that work closely with campus leadership to build community spirit, encourage communication between the school and parents, organize family activities and raise funds for community projects. They also provide a support system for families new to the school. Activities include the annual Kermesse (international fair), winter markets, food festivals and seasonal parties, along with information sessions on technology in the classroom, the sports programmes and summer camps. Facilities Overview
The buildings on our three campuses reflect a century of student-centred pedagogical innovation. From an 18th century château to the ultra-modern Centre sportif, facilities are designed, adapted and renovated based on the latest research in education. Our campuses combine more than twenty buildings dedicated to teaching across disciplines including sciences, arts, and sports. Recent developments include the Jura building for Upper Primary at Campus des Nations, a brand-new Centre sportif at La Grande Boissière, and the renovated Pregny site for Early Years at Campus des Nations.

Sports Facilities
La Grande Boissière houses a Centre sportif and a dedicated STEM Centre, while La Châtaigneraie features two sports halls and a sports field with playgrounds. Campus des Nations offers a large sports hall, an all-weather basketball court and a martial arts dojo. Across the three campuses there are extensive outdoor spaces and learning pathways that support physical education and after-school activities. These facilities enable team sports, individual fitness and performance-based programs.

Academic Facilities
Our campuses include a dedicated STEM Centre for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The Centre des arts provides an auditorium plus theatre, music and dance studios. Science laboratories are available within the secondary-school buildings. Libraries and collaborative spaces, including the CoLab library on Campus des Nations, support research and study. Additional learning spaces, such as the Jura building for Upper Primary, complement science and technology education.

Extra Curricular Facilities
Performing arts are supported by the Centre des arts, with an auditorium, theatre, music and dance studios and two performance venues. Academic & Intellectual
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and is taught through interdisciplinary projects using technology and engineering principles. STEM activities connect classroom learning to real-world concepts, fostering curiosity, collaboration and problem-solving. Odyssey of the Mind is among the competitions offered, alongside other academic activities such as cooking, gardening, chess and film.

Arts & Creative
ENCORE Performing Arts Academy offers Dance, Drama, LAMDA and shows. The Music School provides private lessons, music theory, ensembles and concerts, and the Ecolint Orchestra supports a community of student and adult musicians. Visual arts, film and other creative activities are part of Culture & Leisure, with opportunities across painting, drawing, sculpture and digital media.

Cultural & Language
World Languages keeps up a student's mother tongue and offers second language courses. It is possible to study a variety of languages through the World Languages Programme for the IB Diploma and Career-related Programmes in Years 12 and 13. The programme is complemented by a broad range of cultural and leisure activities such as Odyssey of the Mind, cooking, gardening, chess and more.

Social & Hobbies
Culture & Leisure offers Visual Arts, STEM, Chess, Film and more, providing a wide palette of recreational and interest-based activities. Languages

Language Provision
The school teaches in English and French. A World Languages Programme enables students to keep in touch with a home language, either as part of the curriculum or as an Extra-Curricular Activity. Most subjects are offered in English or French, and students can choose their language of instruction in almost any subject.

Bilingual Teaching
The school offers bilingual programmes in English and French for all students from Primary through Secondary, with many programmes taught in both languages.
Admissions

Admissions
1. Applications are made online, and the earlier you submit your application, the better your chances of obtaining a place. You must create an Ecolint account as a first step. After you apply, you can book a campus visit, either in person or online, to learn more about the school.

2. Book a campus visit when you are ready to learn more about Ecolint's campuses and programs; visits can be in-person or virtual. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and see the environment firsthand.

3. Prepare the required documents for the application: a recent passport photo, proof of date of birth for younger applicants, copies of end-of-year reports for the last 2 years (in English or French), copies of the current year reports if applicable, a brief handwritten description by the child (or a recent drawing with the child's name), and online payment of the CHF 250 application fee.

4. Admissions criteria are considered for each application: placement in the present school, any changes during the applicant's education, languages spoken, final goals of the applicant, level of maturity and age (with limited exceptions), and toilet training requirements. The Principals may request additional information or to meet the applicant.

5. Offers of places for entry in September are made by the Admissions Office by telephone or email from February onwards to the end of August. If a place is accepted, the enrolment contract is issued and the place is secured upon signing the contract and paying the Registration Fee and the Capital Development Fund Fee.

Scholarships
The Scholarship Programme at Ecolint is fully funded and designed to empower promising students from diverse backgrounds to thrive. Since 2019, donor-funded scholarships have opened doors for exceptional students and the school is a not-for-profit institution committed to providing inclusive, high-quality international education. The programme covers tuition and many costs and supports needs such as exams (IGCSE, SAT, etc.), university preparation, compulsory trips, cafeteria, transport or travel passes, extra-curricular activity allowances, equipment (laptop, calculator, etc.), and other school materials, adjusted to each scholar's needs. Eligibility requirements include alignment with the school's mission, an international mindset, demonstrated potential to succeed academically with appropriate language skills in English or French, guardian support, right to reside in Switzerland, financial need thresholds, and age appropriate for Year 10, 11 or 12 entry. Applicants must meet residence, financial, and age criteria and are assessed for entry into Years 10–12.

Application steps for scholarships include contacting the Scholarship Coordinator with the required documents before 1 November 2026, including a scholarship application form, a motivation letter in English or French, a letter of recommendation, academic reports, proof of family financial situation, and evidence of right to reside in Switzerland; applications are reviewed in November/December 2026, with offers made by mid February 2027. Note that applications for September 2026 entry were not being accepted at the time.
