Billing schedule and payment terms

- There is no regular tuition billing because the school does not charge tuition. Charges that can be billed (for example replacement costs, certain material costs, or specific activity fees) follow the municipality's invoicing routines. For certain municipal education services the standard municipal invoicing schedule uses term cut-off dates (for example avstämningsdatum 15 September and 15 February for relevant invoicing cycles). Where a fee is charged it will be invoiced according to the municipality's billing procedures and stated payment terms on the invoice.

Boarding fees (if applicable)

- Sven Eriksonsgymnasiet does not operate a school boarding (elevhem) as a standard part of the school's programmes, so there are no regular boarding fees charged by the school itself. Students who need to live away from home for study reasons can apply for inackorderingstillägg (boarding support) from their home municipality; that support and any rules about payment or recovery of support are handled by the municipality or national agencies, not as a school tuition charge.

Other costs and typical charged items

- School meals: Borås Stad provides cost-free school meals to gymnasieelever; there is no charge for the standard school lunch served in the school's dining facilities.
- Textbooks and learning materials: The school lends läroböcker (textbooks) to students. If a borrowed textbook is lost or damaged the student is liable for replacement or compensation and an invoice will be issued for missing or damaged items. The library card's first issue is free; a replacement library card is SEK 100.
- School supplies, course-specific materials and equipment: Some courses (especially practical or vocational subjects, specialist kits or optional study trips) require students to provide personal equipment, tools or materials. Costs for such items are charged where permitted and are the responsibility of the student or guardian unless specifically covered by the municipality. (The school lends standard course textbooks; additional specialised materials or personal tools are paid for by the student when required.)
- Copying / printing: The school provides printing facilities for students; the school is cashless and requires electronic payment methods for on-site purchases when applicable. Specific printing or material charges, if levied, are invoiced or collected via the school's cashless payment procedures.
- School bus / travel: School bus arrangements and travel cards are administered by the municipality. Replacement or administration fees apply to certain items (for example a replacement school bus card fee is SEK 150). Travel-related charges or reimbursements are handled by the municipality according to the rules for student travel.
- Student association / voluntary fees: Participation in the school's voluntary student association (elevkår) is typically funded by voluntary membership contributions or event fees; such charges are separate from tuition and are determined by the student association.

Refund information

- Tuition refunds: Not applicable because tuition is not charged.
- Refunds and recoveries for paid support or grants: If a student receives municipal or state study support (for example inackorderingstillägg or other targeted allowances) and the conditions for that support change (for example study interruption, moving home or other changes in eligibility) the municipality or the agency that paid the support can require repayment or make adjustments in accordance with the applicable rules. In cases where a student withdraws from studies the municipality's documented administrative arrangements describe debiting for a short initial study period with subsequent crediting for uncompleted points.
- Refunds for paid items (for example trip fees or purchased services): Refund and cancellation terms for specific activities (study trips, paid events, optional courses) follow the event's stated conditions; refunds or credits, if provided, are handled according to the stated cancellation policy on the invoice or payment notice. Where the municipality issues an invoice it will show the payment and any refund conditions.

Fee payment options

- On campus the school operates as a cashless school: purchases in the cafeteria or other on-site purchases must be paid by bank card or Swish. The school does not handle cash on campus.
- Municipal invoices and formal charges are settled through the municipality's standard payment channels (invoicing with bankgiro/plusgiro or bank transfer/e-invoice as specified on each invoice). Replacement card purchases or small on-site purchases are handled via the cashless methods above.

Parent Experience

History

Sven Eriksonsgymnasiet rests on a historical foundation dating from 1856. When industrialization accelerated, it became necessary to secure the growth of technicians and entrepreneurs. Tekniska Elementarskolan in Borås was established, with teaching in premises on Stora Brogatan. As the school's educational programs have evolved, its name has changed as well; the school has always been called Teknis, but it has had several official names. In 1997 the school received its current name Sven Eriksonsgymnasiet, named after the local entrepreneur Sven Erikson.

Community

The school community is built around a dedicated staff, modern equipment, a safe learning environment and long-standing student associations. The school has a clear system for student democracy, with weekly class council time and class representatives elected to program councils; each program has its own program council. The unit council elects representatives to the school council and appoints members to the school's canteen council, environmental council and two student safety ombudspersons per program. Elevinflytande also describes student associations, including Elevkåren Teknis, which strengthens school life through activities such as the Kortegen parade, Teknis vs. Bäckäng and the well-known phästerna; membership to Elevkåren Teknis is available when you start at Sven Eriksonsgymnasiet.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Entreprenörsprogrammets Vänner (EPV) is a non-profit association that supports the Entrepreneurship Program at Sven Eriksonsgymnasiet in Borås. Its mission is to contribute to the quality and added value of the education by financing study trips, activities and projects that deepen students' understanding of entrepreneurship, and to strengthen school–industry collaboration. EPV invites parents to participate, including at annual meetings. The association lists partners at multiple levels (Diamantpartner, Silverpartners, Bronspartners, Eventpartners) and supports scholarships to students.
