Boarding Arrangements

Boarding allowances (inackorderingstillägg) are available for gymnasie students with long travel between home and school. Eligibility requires being registered in Sundsvalls kommun, full-time study, and a long travel distance (typically at least 44 km one-way or 3 hours per day); special cases may apply for lodging. First payment is issued by the end of September, and the allowance can be paid for up to nine months per year; applications must be submitted by September 1.

Food Options

Altinska Restaurant serves meals prepared and served by students in the Restaurant and Food Program.

Governance and Ownership

The school is owned and operated by Sundsvalls kommun.
Fees
Application fees

- There are no application fees for Sundsvalls gymnasium; prospective students do not pay an application charge.

Tuition fees (by school year and per term)

- Year 1 (Gymnasiets år 1): SEK 0 per term; SEK 0 per academic year.
- Year 2 (Gymnasiets år 2): SEK 0 per term; SEK 0 per academic year.
- Year 3 (Gymnasiets år 3): SEK 0 per term; SEK 0 per academic year.

All regular upper‑secondary education at Sundsvalls gymnasium is provided without tuition charges to students.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- There is no tuition billing schedule because no tuition is charged; families will not receive regular school tuition invoices.
- Where a monetary charge does apply (for example, replacement of a lost municipal travel/reskort), payment is collected at the time of that specific service or request.

Boarding fees (if applicable)

- Sundsvalls gymnasium does not operate a chargeable boarding/internat service for regular pupils; there are no standard boarding fees charged by the school.
- Students who need to live away from home may apply for municipal inackorderingstillägg (housing allowance for students). The inackorderingstillägg is paid by the municipality as support, not billed as a school boarding fee: SEK 1,973 per month (applicable from spring 2026), paid for the inackordering period and subject to municipal rules and eligibility. First possible payment is at the end of September; applications should be submitted by 1 September for the autumn term.

Other costs or fees

- No fees may be charged to students for books or other learning materials; school‑initiated study visits, excursions and similar activities are not to be funded by mandatory pupil charges. If an activity requires special personal equipment and some pupils lack equipment, the school is to provide what is necessary so all pupils can participate.
- Administrative exceptions that may incur a charge include replacement or reissuance of municipal travel/reskort (replacement fee: SEK 200) when a card is lost or destroyed; that fee is payable through the municipal e‑service.

Refund information

- There are no tuition refunds because there is no tuition charged. Refunds for specific paid services (for example a paid replacement reskort) follow the applicable municipal e‑service or payment provider rules for that service.

Fee payment options

- Because regular tuition and application fees are not charged, routine tuition payment methods are not required.
- For the limited payable items handled by the municipality (for example replacement reskort), payment is accepted via the municipal e‑service using card payment at the time of the request. In certain municipal financial processes (such as benefit payments like inackorderingstillägg) the municipality uses bank arrangements to transfer funds to the recipient.

Summary (practical points for parents)

- You will not pay application or tuition fees to enroll a student at Sundsvalls gymnasium: SEK 0 per term and SEK 0 per year for all three gymnasium years.
- If a pupil must live away from home, municipal inackorderingstillägg is available (SEK 1,973 per month as published for spring 2026) and is paid by the municipality under specified conditions.
- The only routine, itemized charge parents are likely to encounter is a replacement travel card fee (SEK 200), payable through the municipality's e‑service.
