History

Internationella Engelska Skolan Helsingborg opened in August 2017 as one of four new IES schools. The initial intake was 306 students in grades 4–7. This expansion was part of IES's nationwide growth to 34 schools. IES Helsingborg is a bilingual school teaching the Swedish national curriculum, with up to half of instruction delivered in English by teachers from English-speaking countries. The IES network reached about 24,000 students during the 2017/18 academic year.

1. Register your child in the queue. Create an account on the school's website by logging in with BankID and entering your personal data. If Swedish BankID is not available, download the application form at the bottom of this page and email it to admissions. If you do not have a Swedish personal identification number, contact the admissions team for assistance. 2. Verify your email. Confirm your email address in the next step. Check your spam folder if you have not received the confirmation; once your email is confirmed, you can proceed with the application. 3. Provide the following information. Your child's personal identity number (YYYYMMDD-NNNN). Add any siblings to the application, as sibling priority may apply. Register the contact details of both guardians; if a place is offered, all guardians must accept before the child can start. Guardian 2 will receive a verification email. Select school, start of the academic year, and year level; keep in mind that children in Sweden usually start förskoleklass the year they turn 6. 4. Queue placement confirmation. All registered guardians will receive a confirmation email once a queue place has been created for your child. Please contact the school if you have not received a confirmation email after completing your registration. 5. Manage your application. You can, at any time, log in via our website and manage your information, such as your desired start year or adding siblings. 6. Admission Offer. If your child receives a placement offer, you log in to the ‘queue login' via our website with BankID. After that, you make an active choice to confirm the offer. Waitlist

IES Helsingborg uses a queue-based admissions system. Places are offered in order of queue date, so earlier registration increases the chance of receiving a place. The earliest you can register is 1 February in the year after your child is born. Sibling priority may apply if the sibling is already enrolled at or attending an IES school when the other child starts. Guardians receive a queue placement confirmation email, and can manage their application online; an offer requires acceptance by all guardians via the queue login.
