Admissions

Admissions

1. The school uses a queue-based admissions system. Places are offered in order of queue date, so registering earlier increases the chance of a place. The earliest you can register is February 1 in the year after your child is born. Sibling priority may apply if the sibling is already enrolled at, or still attending, an IES school when the other child starts. 2. How to apply for the queue: register your child in the queue by creating an account on the IES Eskilstuna site and logging in with BankID; if BankID is not available, download the paper application form and email it to admissions; if there is no Swedish personal identity number, contact the admissions team for assistance. 3. Verify your email: you must confirm your email address; check your spam folder if you do not receive the verification email. 4. Provide information: your child's personal identity number (YYYYMMDD-NNNN); add any siblings to the application, as sibling priority may apply; register the contact details of both guardians (if a place is offered, all guardians must accept before the child can start); select school, start of the academic year, and year level (children in Sweden usually start förskoleklass the year they turn six). 5. Queue placement confirmation: guardians receive a confirmation email once a queue place has been created for your child; if you have not received a confirmation email after registration, contact the admissions team. 6. Manage your application: you can log in via the website and update information such as the desired start year or adding siblings. 7. Admission Offer: if your child receives a placement offer, you log in to the queue login via BankID and actively confirm the offer; the school will send all information you need before the start of school; if an offer is made, a response must be provided within the specified deadline, or the place will be offered to the next in the queue. 8. General admissions notes: the application window is open all year round; you can apply to multiple schools at the same time; entrance exams are not used; places are allocated based on queue time; you can apply even if you do not currently reside in Sweden; you can join multiple queues; being in the queue at one IES school does not grant priority at other IES schools. The school is bilingual and aims to meet high academic expectations within an international environment.

Waitlist

Waitlist/pool overview: Each school maintains its own queue and admissions are first-come, first-served based on queue time. There are no entrance exams; placements go to the longest-waiting in the queue. You may apply to multiple IES schools simultaneously, but being in the queue for one school does not grant priority for another. Current queue position can be asked of the specific school. If an offer is declined, the place is forfeited and may be offered to the next applicant; you can add another school to your profile to join a different queue via SchoolSoft.
