Admissions

Admissions

1. Queue system and login. The queue system used is SchoolSoft. To register for the queue, identification via BankID is required, and BankID is used to log in and to update details or manage the application.

2. How the queue works and priority. Each school maintains its own separate queue. Placement is first-come, first-served, and sibling priority applies when a sibling currently attends or has been accepted into an IES school at the time the next sibling starts. You can add the sibling's Swedish personal identity number to your profile. Being in the queue for one IES school does not grant priority at other IES schools.

3. When you can place a child in the queue. You can place your child in the queue from February 1st the year after they were born at the earliest.

4. How to apply and the steps. The application window is open all year round, and you can apply to multiple schools at the same time. To apply, follow these steps: a) Click on Apply here; b) Select the school you wish to apply to (each school has its own queue); c) After clicking Apply here, you are redirected to SchoolSoft's queue system and must log in with BankID to fill in your personal details; d) If no Swedish BankID is available, complete the application form available via the provided link.

5. Applying to multiple schools and queue management. If you have applied to one school but want to join the queue for another, you can be in the queue for multiple schools simultaneously. Each school has its own queue, and you cannot transfer queue time between schools; you can add another school by logging into your SchoolSoft profile.

6. Residency and visits. You can apply even if you do not currently live in Sweden, but offers are limited to students who are registered residents in Sweden (folkbokförda). If your child does not have a Swedish personal identity number but you are planning to move, contact the school for guidance. You can visit the school before applying; contact the admissions team for information about visits, and open house details are posted on each school's site.

7. Entrance exams and changes to applications. No entrance exams or selection tests are required for admission. Places are allocated based on queue time. If you need to change your application, you can update your details in the queue system using BankID or contact the school for assistance.

8. Waiting times and current position. Waiting times vary by school, and your position can change if eligible siblings are considered. To check your child's current position in the queue, contact the specific school.

9. Offers and acceptance. Before admissions begin, the school will email to notify that the process is underway. If offered a place, a response is required by the stated deadline; failure to respond will move the offer to the next person in the queue.

10. Declining offers and future applications. If an offer is declined, the place in the queue is forfeited and the offer passes to the next applicant. If a change of mind occurs later, a completely new application may be submitted.

Waitlist

The waitlist is the school-specific queue used by Internationella Engelska Skolan Enskede. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with sibling priority applied when a sibling currently attends or has been accepted into an IES school at the time the next sibling starts. Each school maintains its own queue, and being in the queue for one school does not confer priority at another. The queue can be joined from February 1st the year after a child is born, and the application window is open year-round so families can apply to multiple schools at once. There are no entrance exams; offers are made based on queue position. Waiting times vary by school, and positions may change due to sibling priority. You can visit schools for information in advance, and you may contact the school to check your current queue position. If an offer is declined, the queue position advances to the next applicant. Offers require a timely response to secure the place.
