Admissions

Admissions
Admission is possible for all classes and interest is high. In primary school there is a waitlist because more applicants than places exist. Gymnasium admissions run until the end of June. We operate a waitlist system with “syskonförtur” (sibling priority): children who have siblings at the school are admitted first, and then admissions are determined by the date of application. In March the first admission decisions are issued, and the process continues until June. Applications are made by filling out the form online via the link provided. We will answer any questions you may have in advance. The school has a limited number of places. The shortest time we accept students is one year. An application fee is paid when submitting the application; the school will inform you of the account and amount. When the school notifies new parents of a placement, the enrollment fee is paid. The school has limited capacity to accommodate students with special needs; contact the school early for information. Who can start at the school? Anyone with a connection to Sweden or the Nordic countries. The Swedish language is important to follow the instruction and becomes more important with age; a teenager who lacks Swedish has little chance to follow the instruction. A student enrolled with us who is applying to year 2 or year 3; a student who has demonstrated good results through hard work, perseverance and high attendance. What does it mean to be the school's ambassador? Help with visits to the school; share your experiences as a student at the school; act as a mentor for new gymnasium students; contribute content to social media and other channels where the school is visible. Application steps: Step 1 — Registration: record a short film (max 1 minute) explaining why you should receive the scholarship and how you will contribute as ambassador; send the film to gymnasiet@svskmallorca.se no later than 31 April. Step 2 — Notification: at the end of the school year the ambassador is announced and awarded the scholarship. Step 3 — Payout: the 1000 € scholarship is paid after the school year ends. Conditions for application: the scholarship recipient agrees that the school may use photos and videos of the ambassador role on the website, social media and other channels. We have a waitlist with “sibling priority”: siblings already at the school are given first priority, followed by the date of application. October: Parents in the queue are invited to open houses. November: Open houses are held. January: Parents with children currently at the school are asked about continuing next year. February: Current members pay a place-guarantee fee for the coming year; those on the waiting list are asked if they are still interested. March: The first admission decision is made; documents from the current school are submitted; passports and NIE copies are sent at the same time as admission. April: Enrollment fee and term fee are paid. May: Second admission. Offers of places are made in order; the place is confirmed when the fee is paid and the enrollment form is submitted.
