Introduction

South African College High School (SACS) is a boys' secondary school located on a campus in Newlands, Cape Town, serving Grades 8–12 (ages 13–18). The school follows the South African CAPS curriculum leading to the National Senior Certificate while also offering Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A‑level options as academic enrichment (GCSEs from Grade 8; AS/A levels from Grade 10). English is taught as the home language; Afrikaans or isiXhosa are offered as first additional languages and French is available as an additional language option. SACS operates three boarding houses (De Villiers, Michaelis and Rosedale) with capacity for around 160 boarders and publishes a boarding handbook governing residential life. The campus includes extensive sports facilities (large sports fields, a swimming pool and rowing activity), a gym and dedicated music provision, and the school reports planned upgrades to its music facilities as part of campus development projects. Admissions, fees and scholarship information are published on the school website.
