The International School of South Africa (ISSA) is a co‑educational day and boarding school in Mahikeng, North West Province, offering the Cambridge international curriculum from Grade 00 (pre‑primary) through IGCSE and on to Cambridge AS and A Level. The school also introduced the South African Independent Examinations Board (IEB) curriculum in 2023 to run alongside Cambridge at senior level. English is stated as the main language of communication and learning; Afrikaans and Setswana are taught as second and third languages, and French is offered as an additional modern language in the secondary phase. ISSA's programme includes structured pastoral support via a Tutor system, learning‑support provision and an extended peripatetic music programme with Unisa, ABRSM and Trinity examinations. Notable sporting facilities and provision are highlighted: a broad range of codes (including swimming, football, hockey, cricket on two turf pitches including the Stout oval, basketball, tennis and squash), regular external fixtures and the hosting of regional sports festivals. Boarding provision includes residential houses with houseparents, a medical centre and dedicated quarantine accommodation (as described in the school's boarding documentation).
