Helderberg International School is an independent international day school in Somerset West (Cape Town), set within a secure estate beneath the Helderberg mountains. It follows the British Cambridge curriculum from Early Years through senior levels, offering programmes from Nursery to Year 13 and serving ages 3 to 18. Lessons are presented primarily in English; the school also teaches Afrikaans and offers German and Spanish as modern foreign languages. The school publishes an emphasis on inquiry-based learning and the Cambridge Early Years programme in its nursery and foundation phases, and on Cambridge IGCSE/AS level subjects in the high school. Notable facilities and provision published on the site include functioning, well‑equipped science laboratories, regular PE and sports (including soccer and netball), music and arts activities, extracurricular clubs, and a vegetable and herb garden project for younger pupils. The school is a member of the IES/SEK international school network and highlights small class sizes and personalised learning across its stages.
