Introduction

The American International School of Cape Town (AISCT) is a private, not‑for‑profit, co‑educational international school in Constantia, Cape Town, serving children aged 2 to 18 across an Early Childhood Development Centre, Elementary (K2–Grade 5), Middle (Grades 6–8) and High School (Grades 9–12). AISCT follows an American curriculum and prepares students for a USA high‑school diploma, offering an extensive Advanced Placement (AP) programme in the High School (22 AP courses). English is the primary language of instruction and the school promotes English language proficiency; French and Spanish are taught from Grade 1 through to Upper School, including AP language courses. The campus occupies a substantial site in the Constantia Hills with Table Mountain National Park as a backdrop and is organised into discrete school sections; the school also runs a 12‑day, project‑based Innovation Term and a range of extracurricular and service‑learning opportunities.
