Fees
Application fees

- There is no application fee for applying to Kongsberg videregående skole through the normal public inntak (application) system (applications are registered via the regional/national Vigo portal).

Tuition fees (by year group and per term)

- VG1 (first year): NOK 0 per school year (no tuition). NOK 0 per term.
- VG2 (second year): NOK 0 per school year (no tuition). NOK 0 per term.
- VG3 (third year, where applicable): NOK 0 per school year (no tuition). NOK 0 per term.

Mandatory / regularly billed charges (items that may generate invoices)

- Elev‑PC (standard model): NOK 1,427 per year as an annual pupil contribution for a standard school PC. The contribution is paid each year you attend (paid as an annual own‑contribution; three contributions for three‑year programmes, two contributions for two‑year programmes). Invoices for the annual own‑contribution are issued in November and may be delivered as eFaktura, via Vipps or as a paper invoice.
- Elev‑PC (optional stronger models / Mac): one‑time purchase prices apply if the pupil chooses a higher specification or Mac; examples listed for 2026/27 include NOK 12,431 (power PC) and MacBook Air options at NOK 16,413 and NOK 18,838 (one‑off payments).
- Internat (boarding) — single room including meals: NOK 6,950 per month. Deposit equal to one month's rent (NOK 6,950). Monthly invoices are issued for rent and included meals; guardians are responsible for internat payment when the resident pupil is under 18. Additional charge examples from the internat contract: lost room key NOK 1,250; small key to lockable desk drawer NOK 650; lost access card NOK 525; charges for insufficient cleaning on vacating (example NOK 1,000).

Other potential costs and incidental charges

- Loaned textbooks and other pensumlæremidler: loan is voluntary and free to borrow. If a loaned book is lost, returned late, or returned in a damaged state (e.g., underlining, missing pages, wrong barcode, water damage), the pupil/guardians are liable to pay replacement cost equal to the price of a new copy. Replacement claims are invoiced with 14 days' payment term; reminders and collection measures follow the county's routines if unpaid.
- School transport (skoleskyss): pupils who meet the statutory distance/eligibility rules may receive free school transport under the regional rules (for example free transport when the school route exceeds the statutory distance threshold); eligibility and application details are handled via the regional skoleskyss procedures. Where transport is not covered by entitlement, fares or discounted travel schemes are managed through the regional transport arrangements.
- Insurance: pupils are covered by the county's pupil accident insurance in school and in school‑arranged activities. This is managed by the school/county and does not require a separate parental payment for the standard coverage.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Elev‑PC standard own‑contribution: billed annually (invoice in November). Payment options shown for Elev‑PC invoices include eFaktura, Vipps or paper invoice. The Elev‑PC annual own‑contribution is collected each year the pupil is in school up to the programme's maximum number of contributions (max three for three‑year programmes).
- Internat (boarding): invoiced monthly; deposit equal to one month's rent required at move‑in. The internat contract sets an ordinary one‑month notice period for termination and specifies consequences for late/non‑payment (including eviction procedures if payment is not made following written notice).
- Replacement for lost/damaged loaned books: invoiced with 14 days' payment term; reminders and inkasso (debt collection) procedures are used if invoices are not paid.

Refunds, cancellation and consumer rights

- Elev‑PC purchases: the procurement/cancellation rules for purchased machines include a consumer right to withdraw (angrerett) for the purchase period indicated by the suppliers; the Elev‑PC information specifies a 50‑day right to withdraw after ordering (following the applicable consumer protection rules) and describes the return process via the supplier portals. If a standard PC has been paid via the annual own‑contribution scheme, Lånekassen's equipment stipend can be used to cover the own‑contribution; all pupils who apply for Lånekassen equipment stipend receive it but must apply separately.
- Loaned textbooks: if special circumstances apply, the school can waive replacement claims in individual cases; otherwise replacement charges are due and follow the county's invoicing and collection routines.
- Internat: the internat contract describes notice, termination and grounds for contract termination and does not promise a general refund beyond the contractual terms (deposit, notice and pro‑rata rent where applicable as determined by the contract).

Payment methods and invoicing channels (examples used by the county/school)

- Elev‑PC invoices: eFaktura, Vipps or paper invoice. The Elev‑PC invoices are sent by the county IT partner (FRID IKS) and the invoice will reach the pupil (not guardians) unless different arrangements exist.
- Other invoices (internat, replacement books, other charges): issued by the school or county with standard invoice follow‑up routines (monthly invoicing for internat; invoice with due date and reminders for replacement charges; unpaid invoices may be forwarded to debt collection). Specific payment channels for these invoices follow the county's invoicing practice.

Summary of items found and items not listed explicitly

- Found and stated here with document references: no tuition fee for public upper secondary education; Elev‑PC annual own‑contribution amounts and invoice timing/options; optional higher‑spec PC one‑time prices; internat (boarding) rent, deposit and monthly invoicing; loaned book replacement and invoicing procedure; pupil insurance coverage; rules on skoleskyss entitlement.

- Not explicitly listed on the school's documents or in the linked regional documents in a way that gives additional numeric fees: there is no separate per‑term tuition charge (tuition is NOK 0); no compulsory uniform fee or mandated uniform cost is specified; detailed per‑term invoice dates for internat beyond “monthly” are not itemised in the contract beyond standard monthly invoicing. The items above reflect the fees and billing terms that are explicitly published for Kongsberg videregående skole / Buskerud fylkeskommune for the 2026/27 school year (internat contract dated for 2026–2027 and Elev‑PC details listed for 2026/27).
