Introduction

Fees

Annual tuition at Kongsberg International School ranges from NOK 39,500 for 2026/27.

Application fees

- There is no fee to submit an application. A non‑refundable administration fee of NOK 2,000 will be invoiced upon completion of the admissions process; this administration fee is deducted from the first tuition invoice when the student starts. The administration fee will be invoiced if the new student is not starting immediately.

Tuition fees (by year group; per month and per academic year)

- Monthly tuition (all students, Grades 1–10): NOK 3,950 per month. The school applies the same tuition rate across Grades 1–10.
- Billing period used for calculating annual tuition: tuition is invoiced over 10 months (August–May, with June additionally invoiced for students who join mid‑year as noted); using the 10‑month invoicing schedule the annual tuition equals NOK 39,500 (NOK 3,950 × 10).

Billing schedule and payment terms

- School fees are invoiced over 10 months starting in August; monthly payments must be paid in advance and the invoice date indicates the first day of the month being invoiced.
- Students who join mid‑year are invoiced from the month in which they join and will in addition be invoiced for June.
- Three months' written notice is required to terminate the tuition contract; the notice must be given by the first day of the first month of the notice period.
- The school reserves the right to review the contract and fees each semester and may charge additional fees for before‑ and after‑school programmes. Failure to make payments can result in withdrawal of the offer of a place. The Parent and Student Handbook forms part of the contract between parents/guardians and the school.

Boarding fees

- Kongsberg International School is a day school only. There are no boarding services or boarding fees. Students are expected to live with parents or guardians.

Other costs and fees

- Before‑ and after‑school supervision (SFO) is charged separately from tuition. For the 2026/2027 school year the published SFO rates are:
- Grade 1–3 (subsidised for 2026/2027): Full‑time SFO: NOK 758 per month; Part‑time SFO: free (subject to the sign‑up deadline and eligibility conditions).
- Grade 4–6 (published 2025/2026 figures on the site): Full‑time place (per month) NOK 2,900; Part‑time place (per month) NOK 1,850; Emergency single session NOK 180; SFO holiday days (for students not signed up to SFO) NOK 470 per day. SFO sign‑up rules, minimum periods and termination rules apply.
- The tuition fee covers educational instruction during the regular school day and educational supplies, including exercise books and the loan of textbooks. Additional optional costs such as specific activity fees, field trips, or materials beyond regular supplies may be charged separately if applicable.
- Clothing: the school requires appropriate wet and cold weather gear for outdoor activity; there is no published school uniform fee in the school's fee information.
- Sibling arrangements: fees may be waived for families who have more than three children at the school simultaneously; fees remain payable for the first three children.

Refund information and cancellation

- If an offered place is accepted, the parent/guardian has the right to cancel. Cancellation must be submitted on the school's cancellation form within 14 days of signing the contract; any fees paid by the time the form is received will be returned to the specified account. If the place is cancelled more than 14 days after the contract was signed, the administration fee (NOK 2,000) is not refunded.
- SFO termination: SFO places require a minimum sign‑up period and carry their own termination rules (one month's termination period calculated from the 1st of the following month); SFO places must be paid for during the termination period whether used or not. July is not included as a paid month for termination calculations.

Fee payment options

- The school's published admissions, tuition and SFO pages and the SFO Handbook set out invoicing and billing schedules but do not specify a standard list of accepted payment methods (e.g., credit card, bank transfer) in the public fee materials. Invoices issued by the school indicate payment details and terms; SFO and school invoices are issued in advance and follow the 10‑month invoicing pattern described above. For payment instructions contained on an invoice or in the Home‑School Contract, follow the payment details shown on those documents.
