The school works with Christian families to form disciples of Jesus Christ, equipped to impact society through spiritual discernment, moral courage, and academic excellence. The primary ministry is to provide Christian education for children of Nicaragua's Christian families. The curriculum follows the Ministry of Education's school year (February to November). Parent Experience

History

Nicaragua Christian Academy began as the result of three evangelical missionary families seeking an English-language Christian education for their own children. It started as a cooperative homeschool program in 1991 with two teachers and seven students, and in 1995 land was purchased to build the school through the labor and donations of hundreds of volunteers and supporters. The English-language school grew quickly, but there was a need for a second school that would maintain the same commitment to academic excellence with a Christian foundation in the Spanish language. In 2005, the newly formed association opened NCA Nejapa, which began with 54 students in February 2005 and has grown rapidly over the years. In 2013, NCA Matagalpa opened as the third NCA school, and together the three schools meet the educational needs of over 900 students.

Community

NCA Nejapa is a growing school community that provides Christ-centered instruction from Kinder 1 to 11th grade, with a national staff that partners with families to achieve their goals. The school follows the Ministry of Education curriculum and infuses it with a biblical worldview and higher-level thinking skills, offering English classes daily from 5th grade to 11th grade. The community supports spiritual life through daily devotions, weekly chapels and small discipleship groups led by teachers, and families are encouraged to participate in the educative process through regular meetings, coordinator positions and parent seminars. Inclusive education is a key focus, with partnerships to provide education for children with physical and learning disabilities.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Families are the focus of NCA Nejapa, and parents are invited to participate in the educative process through regular meetings, coordinator positions and parent seminars. NCA Nejapa is part of the Association of Nicaragua Christian Academy Schools, and all three schools are governed by a seven-member school board elected by the General Assembly of Missionary Parents. The governance structure and opportunities for family involvement are complemented by programs and resources to Get Involved, including volunteer opportunities and parent-focused activities. News and events such as Art and Creativity, Vocational Fair and Book Day celebrations illustrate ongoing involvement opportunities for families. This framework reflects a formal approach to family engagement in student development.
