Bucklands Beach Intermediate is a co-educational New Zealand state school for 11–13-year-olds that delivers a dual framework: the New Zealand Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. The school teaches eight learning areas, including English, The Arts, Health and Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, and Technology, with inquiry learning guiding six units each year. Specialist teachers support cross-curricular projects, and the NZC five key competencies—thinking, using language, managing self, relating to others, and participating—are integrated with an IB lens to foster internationally minded, lifelong learners. The campus features a well stocked library, a fully networked computer and television system, a performing arts centre, science and design spaces, and ESOL support. Sporting fields, an artificial turf, outdoor learning areas, and a dedicated Sports and Dance Academy underpin a broad co-curricular program, including after-school activities and exchanges aimed at student wellbeing and achievement. The school welcomes international families.
