Parent Experience

History
PrepaTec Eugenio Garza Sada was founded in 1975. Located beside the Carmen neighborhood in Monterrey, it started with 1,730 students and was the first PrepaTec nationwide. The academic programs expanded from two to three years in 1993, and study trips were added in 2001. In 2011 the curriculum was reorganized into three modalities—Bicultural, Multicultural, and International Baccalaureate—and the robotics team Team Eugenio was born (now Botbusters). In 2025 PrepaTec Eugenio Garza Sada joined UNESCO's Associated Schools Network, becoming the first PrepaTec in the country to receive this certification.

Community
The PrepaTec Eugenio Garza Sada community participates in annual milestone celebrations with students, faculty, campus leaders, and local community members. In August 2025, the campus celebrated 50 years with a Jardín Central ceremony, including traditional chilaquiles, blue lemonade, and cupcakes, and activities such as tug-of-war and wheelbarrow races, a glitter bar, and karaoke. The celebration also featured events like EGS Fest and the 50th anniversary race, and a time capsule project was planned for August 28, 2025. In 2025 PrepaTec Eugenio Garza Sada joined UNESCO's Associated Schools Network.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
The school runs a parent-focused program called Families that Transform (diplomado para papás) to foster collaboration between PrepaTec and families. The program is offered across all five PrepaTec campuses in Monterrey. Nearly 500 parents have completed modules and report a stronger, more collaborative relationship with their child and the school. The curriculum includes five modules on topics such as the PrepaTec educational model, family and parenting styles, and the adolescent brain and risks. Languages

Language Provision
English is taught as a second language in PrepaTec Bicultural, including six subjects taught in English as a foreign language. A third language is available through the Multicultural track. The Internacional track follows the IB framework, providing international certification. Language support is integrated through language courses and international experiences.

Bilingual Teaching
PrepaTec Bicultural is a high school program designed to strengthen English as a second language. Six subjects are taught in English as a foreign language. The program includes interdisciplinary projects and a personal portfolio of competencies for life. An international experience abroad is available as an option.

Immersion Programs
PrepaTec Multicultural fosters a global vision, combining national and international experiences and promoting learning of a third language.
