Billing schedule and payment terms

- Standard billing structure: parents receive four invoices that together cover the yearly school fees. For the 2025/2026 schedule the four due dates were: Bill 1 — 31 May 2025; Bill 2 — 30 September 2025; Bill 3 — 31 January 2026; Bill 4 — 30 April 2026. The same four-bill structure (with those due-date positions in the school year) is used for the fees shown above.
- Bill 2 includes the Building and Stability funds; companies paying fees can be invoiced annually. Parents who wish to receive one annual bill or to arrange monthly instalments are asked to contact the Billing Officer.
- If students join or leave during the school year, fees are prorated according to the month of joining/leaving; detailed prorated amounts and the related notice deadlines for each month are set out in the school's fee schedule.
- Overdue bills: the school reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts and applies a €40 administrative fee for overdue bills; school reports may be retained until all outstanding invoices are paid.
- Note relating to 2026/27 billing timing: from the 2026/2027 school year the first bill (Bill 1) will increase to €3,000 and the amounts for Bills 2–4 will be adjusted accordingly.

Extras, other charges and typical additional costs

Refund and withdrawal terms

- Required notice and penalty: written notice of withdrawal must be given in accordance with the contract; in default of correct notice the family accepts liability to pay one third of the applicable annual tuition fees in lieu of notice. The standard notice deadlines for leaving at the end of each term are: 30 September for leaving at the end of the Autumn term; 30 January for leaving at the end of the Spring term; 30 April for leaving at the end of the Summer term. If a pupil leaves mid-term, a full three months' notice is required and billing dates may be amended.

Companies can be invoiced annually; parents may request one annual invoice or discuss monthly instalments with the Billing Officer. Parent Experience

History
St George's English School was founded in September 1990 by Anthony Barlow and Dr John Jackson, starting with 12 students in rented accommodation in Bonnevoie. In 1996 the school moved to Luxembourg-Cents and in 1997 the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester opened the Weimershof site. Between 1998 and 2000 the school grew to become St George's International School, and Princess Anne and Crown Princess Maria Theresa visited in 1999. The Hamm campus opened in 2008, followed by the Lentz building in 2009 and the Barthel building in 2011, with Luxembourgish taught to younger students starting in 2012. Today the school is an inclusive, welcoming international community of more than 850 students representing 70-plus nationalities at a purpose-built facility in Hamm; in May 2023 it hosted Luxembourg's coronation event for King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Community
The St George's community has grown immensely over the past three decades and has a warm, inviting atmosphere. Younger students describe their learning as happy, fantastic and magical, and parents speak of a welcoming community in which they have quickly felt at home. Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
The Friends of St George's is a group of parents and staff which organises regular social events, welcomes new families and fundraises for charities and initiatives such as the Art Scholarship Fund and the Lauren Patterson Memorial School in Uganda. The Friends are involved in the organisation of the Summer Fayre, termly family events, cultural visits and many other activities. New families who would like help settling into Luxembourg can contact the Friends Ambassadors, who are long-standing parents volunteering to support new arrivals, for advice on the local community and social activities within the school and beyond. Facilities

Facilities Overview
St George's International School Luxembourg sits on a purpose-built campus in Hamm. The Hamilius building opened in 2008, the Lentz building followed in 2009, and the Barthel building in 2011, with the campus expanding to support secondary provision. The Zinnen building opened in 2016, featuring an auditorium, dedicated music rooms, and the Secondary Library and Secondary English department. A forthcoming Elsy Jacobs Building will provide a double-sized sports hall, changing rooms, offices, meeting rooms and classrooms. It will also include energy-saving features such as a rooftop solar farm, a green roof, low-emission heating and a rainwater collection system.

Sports Facilities
Elsy Jacobs Building will be operational from the 2025-2026 school year and has two full-size sports courts. It includes changing facilities for four teams, a first-aid station, offices, meeting rooms and classrooms. The building is the first sports facility in Luxembourg to be named after a female athlete and will increase sporting opportunities for students, as well as for clubs and sportspeople in Luxembourg.

Academic Facilities
Zinnen building opened in 2016 has a state-of-the-art auditorium, dedicated music rooms, and large classrooms for Year 6 Primary students. The building also houses the Secondary Library and the Secondary English department. Barthel building completed in 2011 provides spacious, well-equipped laboratories and classrooms for the Secondary section. The Hamilius building opened in 2008 and the Lentz building opened in 2009 to provide additional spaces for secondary education.

Extra Curricular Facilities
St George's offers several after-school sport-related activities for students. Activities include athletics, basketball, cricket, dance, football, rugby, sport for young children and yoga. Merite Jeunesse is part of the extracurricular program. These options are available to students across age groups.

Academic & Intellectual
St George's Debate Club competes in European competitions, including the Sir Winston Churchill European Debating Competition in Bucharest (November 2024), with six members taking part. The team finished sixth overall, winning two debates. The school also participates in the Jonk Fuerscher National Science Contest, with secondary students presenting projects and earning recognitions such as RTL Public Choice Awards. A MINTED lab provides fab-lab robotics and design-technology resources; the Secondary Repair Club meets weekly to repair school devices, while Primary students work on biodiversity projects and hydropower builds.

Arts & Creative
Music is a central part of life at St George's, with around 260 students receiving vocal and instrumental tuition weekly and performing in recitals and performances throughout the year. There are after-school music clubs including Musical Theatre Club, String Ensembles, Guitar Club, Guitar and Ukulele, Percussion Ensembles, Primary and Secondary Choirs, and Singing. Drama opportunities start in Early Years, with each class performing assemblies or stage shows annually; in Primary, Years 1, 3 and 5 collaborate on larger shows.

Cultural & Language
Amnesty International Club raises awareness of human rights internationally, and Eco-Agents promote environmental sustainability. The school also became a Fairtrade School in 2025, incorporating Fairtrade practices for coffee, bananas, sugar, chocolate and sports equipment. St George's also hosts cultural and community events to engage with the local Luxembourgish community.

After-school activities include sport and dance, arts and languages, with after-school care for Primary students and a Homework Club for Secondary students. Students can choose from athletics, basketball, cricket, dance, football, rugby and yoga as part of after-school clubs. Leadership & Professional
Merite Jeunesse is St George's largest centre in Luxembourg for the Duke of Edinburgh International Award, offering Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. Participants complete four (five for Gold) key areas: service to the community, developing new skills, physical activity and expeditions. Languages

Language Provision
English is the language of instruction; secondary students must be fluent in English. From Nursery, informal French lessons with native French teachers; from age five lessons become more formal. Upper Primary includes Luxembourgish lessons of one hour per week. German begins from age 11, and at IGCSE (age 14) students can choose between French and German, or continue with both.

Immersion Programs
The Immersive English Programme provides intensive English for children aged 9 to 11, taking learners from beginner (A1/A2) to upper intermediate (B1/B2) level while studying a full curriculum that includes Maths, Science, Humanities, French, Luxembourgish, Art and PE. It uses CEFR language levels and includes Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) to accelerate language acquisition. The programme is led by an experienced primary teacher with an EAL focus and a teaching assistant, and St George's participates in Chat4EFL to personalise language learning. Places are limited to a small class of up to 15 students; the application deadline is 30 April 2026, and the programme starts in September 2026, with options to join in January 2027 or April 2027.

Admissions

Admissions
St George's welcomes new families and students throughout the academic year, space permitting. An Admissions meeting and school tour with the Admissions Officer Samantha Taraskiewicz is advised before applying. The school is inclusive; academic ability is only one factor in placing students. Secondary applicants attend a mandatory visit to class and complete literacy, numeracy and languages assessments to join an appropriate teaching group. Primary applicants attend a mandatory two-day class visit and sample daily life; no English test is required. From age 5, basic English with literacy and numeracy skills is helpful; English is not required to enroll. Prospective students are invited for one or two taster days in the relevant year group.
